  • very well done, nice and easy going keep it up sir!

  • this was great, thanks !

  • If i take business course I won't have to learn these things right?

  • Hi,

Can the videos be freely downloaded? I could not see any link to do that.

  • Hello Dr.Tisdell, thank you for your videos. I would like you to help me to solve the following partial differential equation:

    a*dy/dx - b*dy/dt = K(y-yi)

    being a, b and K constants

this equation translate the mass transfer in a column.

    any help?

    thanks a million.

  • The only thing I`m confused about is why d/dy of sinx = 0

  • @FIFAMAN07C3 nevermind i just realized that if x is a constant and you take its sine value its also a constant. and that derivative = 0

  • @FIFAMAN07C3 cause sinx is to be treated as constant when differentiating w.r.t to y.

  • I thoroughly enjoyed the lecture. You are a good instructor. You are clear, concise and your preplanning is impeccable.

  • Thanks for commenting! Glad you finding these useful.

  • only prob with the videos is that there are no jokes like in class. textbook me please math1231 :)

  • Dennis auroux is amazing...But you are also doing great !

  • I am going to be very honest Sir, Its been an absolute pleasure watching some of your earlier videos, and although I am only in math1231 I was dying to find good quality teaching resources from UNSW. I love watching vids in my spare time and it helps in reinforcing the concepts i learn in class.

I usually watch lectures from MIT and I find that getting various perspectives on a topic helps develop depth of understanding. I am glad to say your lectures easily compare If not trump the MIT ones.

  • Hi CR4NKSH4FT - really appreciate your comments. In fact, they've made my week!

I agree that the MIT maths vids are great (and so are the Stanford Engineering Everywhere ones) and I watch them too for a bit of inspiration and comparison.

If you've been watching other vids then you might have heard of Gil Strang + Denis Auroux (MIT) or Stephen Boyd (Stanford) who also have very popular videos.

I am no Gil Strang or Stephen Boyd, but I am trying hard! :-)

  • Wow you break it down and make it so understandable! Pity I have Other classes on during your lectures. Please keep the videos coming! I'm learning so much! Your teaching style is truely amazing!

  • Hi Jarshiker and thanks for commenting. If you get the chance, then I invite you to drop in one on of my lectures - they're a really different vibe to these vids.

BTW, I can see from your channel that you're multi-talented! Awesome!

  • Perfect.

  • Wow! That's quite a comment! :-)

    Best wishes

    Chris
