Gilad joined the army as part of the Israeli rule - every boy and girl that reaches the age of 18 and own an Israeli citizenship must join the army wether s/he likes it or not! for all we know maybe Gilad didn't even WANT to be in the army,and now he have to pay for everybody's sins like he's the worst person alive.

I'm pro two-state solution but your approval of Hamas' behaviour shows the complexity of the Palestinian side. They are not a state yet, and therefore you don't consider them obliged to stately manners like the Geneva convention, but this is exactly what prevented them their state up till now.
