The difference with the iPhone 4 reception problem is that for the Nokia, the way you demo holding the phone is not a normal way to hold a handphone when takling on it. However, for the iPhone4, the problem happens when you hold the phone in the normal way for talking. That is why no one complains for the Nokia phone.
The thing is that it doesn't really matter how you hold it, i tried different ways and the bars eventually drop, it just takes more time. It has to do with how strong the signal is in the specific area. I tried the death grip near a cell tower and nothing happened.
I think apple has better examples to show, if you go to their website, you will find that many phones have the exact same problem, including nokia and motorolla.

I tried several grips on my n82... only thing which got the bars down was when i wrapped it in aluminefolio :D
