  • I would have darkened up the green paint a little, covered the whole car in that, and then went with ghost flames if any at all.

  • clean, nice work!

  • Standox Hs Clear.its the way to go.,Lovely shine.

  • Why standox clear over house of color?

  • love the candy green and glad to hear a drowning pool song thats not "bodies". not a huge fan of flames but the candy green makes up for it!

  • Wats the exact part number for that standox clear I def wanna try it....looks very good

  • Beautiful job man. i hope to be able to paint like this won day.

  • I love the colors but I think the flames could have been a bit better. I've always preferred a more realistic flame job, but in the end this ain't my car so to each his own.

  • very wonderfull...

  • I feel like giving thumbs down to these would be great videos for hitting me over the head with those offensive music overlays. If I want music, I'll turn on the radio.

  • @PerfectCell1337 what an "IDIOT" the music is just a random song from the youtube library to add to no sound video. I think you should hit your self repeatedly over the head with it and do us all some good and probably do you some good too.LOL LOL

  • house of kolor and DNA have the best paints and clears 4 sure

  • did you use a roller and clear with Thomas water sealer, just kidding, its a beauty, expensive, but worth it.

  • so the base of the car is kandy? limetime is a shimrin basecoat. i would have guessed kandy lime gold with a bit of kobalt blue to get what we call SLIMETIME,over a gold base.still its nice.

  • long thin licks are the shiznits.standox looking good too.

  • all i know, is that this car better not get no big fucking wheels put on it

  • The money you spent on house of color you should have just gone ahead and gotten a true flame paint job lol..

  • @FYVSTARZ your comment makes no sense.h.o.k is the most copied yet inexpensive paints. then you say true fire is the end all of the custom paint jobs.the last part is your opinion.there are a select few who can pull off real fire.by the way , mike lavalle is not the creater of the technique.another artist was published first..NOW my reply makes no sense

  • @palomino13 LOL! are you kidding me? House paints inexpensive? Want to tell me why I spent $1500 on a brandywine paint from them for my 85 Chevy? You're absolutely crazy if you say that they are cheap.. they are one of the top brands for automotive paint and well worth the price... You must not know anything about painting...

  • @FYVSTARZ i dont know any thing huh? i have over two decades of custom painting/airbrushing , bodyshop owner operator,i have taught and been a special guest at hok seminars,my work has been published in kustom car mags many times. sooo i may know something.what i didnt say is h,o,k,is the best in my opinion ,when comparing prices for a job it winds up being the more inexpensive choice.

  • @palomino13 and you cant "Copy" a paint... Each brand has its own chemicals which only bond with what ever they use.. Which is why you need a HoK primer, sealer, clear, paint for one paint job... Mix some PPG with HoK and tell me how much more paint stripping/sanding you do.

  • @palomino13 FYI 1 Gallon = 128 Oz. a 2 Oz bottle of paint from HoK is from $15-$40

  • @palomino13 Also I never said "true fire is the end all of the custom paint jobs"... But that is how much you're going to pay for a true fire job.

  • Sweet!!

  • FK tha paint looks wet. Nice bro

  • The car looks great... Well better than great. Don't listen to these haters. If someone doesn't like it than they are an asshole.

  • Wow, what's the deal with the hating of the flames? It's a paint job. Like it or don't. Watch it or don't. The video gives it no justice. If you would look at it in real life you could see the color pop.

  • @gtogus712 Sorry for the late post for some odd reason I can't email you. I'm great. I'm engaged. Doing side jobs. Working for a tow company. Finishing up some credits in school for a teaching position. Saving up for a shop with my brother. He's gone full fledge mobile diagnostic. So I guess you can say we are getting there - slowly but surley. Hows Fernando and Fausto? Hope they are doing great. Say hi to Atanas for me. Slap Coco for me. Jk.

  • OOOOO man people enough with the flames already jeeeez cant any one be more creative. sick of damn flame jobs.

  • Gorgeous paint job...

  • Whats up with this Standox crap? Is it some new brand all the shops are using? Been outta the scene for a while and just saw a video of Standox spray on filler/bondo that gets rid of pinholes and sanding scratches after the first coat of primer. The Standox clear looks pretty awesome, is it clear, clear or does it have a yellow tint to it?

  • @jdubcbr600 ---great stuff actually Standox started in 1955 and made in Germany .

  • C'est du très bon boulot, c'est beau !

  • yup just had to have the white trash rock music lol

  • @evilpanamajack.... lol

  • Very nice job man

  • @Rockstarsss ..thanks

  • THAT IS FUCKING BADASS!!!!!

  • its a shame you picked a Camaro to rebuild there on every block now..They just dont turn heads anymore because of that alone i sold mine and started another project..Now im working on a chopped low ride 69 Roadrunner i have idea's for that car that will give you a sore neck looking at it..ill be done late summer 2012 ..it will get posted

  • @DWcriticism ...anyway I didnt choose to build this car a customer asked me to paint his car and hell yeah I'll paint any old or new car .

  • @gtogus712 Allthough the camero isnt my choice of car. but i have to admit you do good work..the green flame job you done was amazing...i just love the shine...Is there any chance you have a shop in Canada...I find the car is only as good as the person who paints it..I have a car that will need painting and it would be awsome if i had the same paint job on my Roadrunner..

  • @gtogus712 What's up my greek buddy It's gustavo. I love the rock to the background of your video. What have you been up to? Hope the family is doing great and healthy. Are you still with Al the heeb? hopefully he has paid all his debts.

  • @Gustavozalan1

hey whats up Gustavo ,,good to hear from you hope you are doing well ,yeah I am still at the same place.lol...just doing my hotrods to keep me busy.

  • @DWcriticism I beg to differ; My 69 Camaro turns heads everytime I take it out!

  • @tubular12344 Dont get me wrong it is a very nice car with a gorgious paint job but i find theres just to many driving around...I live in a small town in the middle of nowhere and theres 3 rebuilt Camaro...

  • whats the color of the flames

  • @bigchev9999 ...LIMETIME from house of kolor

  • cool nice job!!congratulations

  • COOL

  • Sick car, sick song.

  • you know flame paint job were invented in the 50's ..this video says 2010 hmm.. ponders>

  • @abjectcriticism ....wow cant believe you said that ....lol

  • @gtogus712 Did you wet sand this? also how much did all your primer sealer clear bc and stuff cost? if you dont mind saying

  • @abjectcriticism god damn youtube haters are fukin aretarted

  • @abjectcriticism WOW, YOU ARE SO RETARTED LOLOLOLOLOL.

  • @ArisDesigns LOL

  • @abjectcriticism i think you are retarded... in the 50s they were doing engine and grille swaps the flames and crazy colours came into play in the 60s and flames got popular in the mid 60s this car is a 68 hence the flames. but i understand that you dont like flames... dont put them on your car. so go watch your fast and furious movies where people do wheel stands and burn outs at the same time...and leave the modifications to the real artists and people that appreciate real art

  • @abjectcriticism Lol...A what fucking retard it car from 60 a i cars seen...Sorry for speaking retard i mean what a fucking retard its a car from the 60's And flames Were More 60's than 50's so it fits the style and timelime of the car

  • Mean.

  • @gtogus712- Do you have to do anything before you start painting the car?

  • Thats Yummy!!!!!!!!

  • Nice paint job!!!! check out (sick 2004 350z) tell me what you think. Thanks

  • @grpanos13 very cool ,Panos thats greek right ?

  • @gtogus712 Yes sir!!! :)

  • and what buffing system do you recommend thank you

  • @alazade3000 3m is usually what I use .

  • hey what is your take on sikkens clear

  • @alazade3000 not bad at all if you go with there high solids HS clear that would be your best bet .

  • hey man killer paint job... ive been looking for a kandy green to go on my truck and i love this do u remember the paint code for this color

  • i usually dont like flames but for this ill make an acception

  • Shitted on them

  • Fantastic

wich is better standox or spies hecker clear?

  • @alipontiac just a matter of preference ,they are pretty much identical. I have been using Standox but have used Spies in the past before and see really no difference other than Standox cost like $200 more.

  • SWEET!!!!! great job !!

  • @pepik87 THANKS

  • very nice paint job did you get much orange peel?

  • @TJDeadkid Hardly any,, part of the reason is use good clear STANDOX HS CLEAR. No shrinkage and the lay out is unbelievable.

  • Comment removed

  • fucking awesome, i love it, wish i can paint like that

  • whats the green color code for this?? thanks

  • @TheBresett House of Kolor-PBC13 limetime over white base and over Standox HS clear.

  • @gtogus712 cheerrs

  • I have a HUGE question:I have a "78 c10 i gota motor im building over 400 hp...and gonna lower it.,..but i was wondering....how mutch would it cost me to do that same paint job my self...same colors???

  • @Codythecartaker ABOUT 1000 DOLLARS AT LEAST

  • @gtogus712 ...damn really...what if i use cheaper but good paint...and how mutch dose a raggular paint job cost just one color as bright of yellow i can get

  • Beautiful car, ugly color! It doesn't look classic bro

  • @mexicocityfan It's not classic it's custom two totally different classes.

  • @mexicocityfan ease up on the haterade that color is bad ass and video doesnt even do it justice. music was terrible

  • verry nice dude im about to paint my car lime green =]

  • @JiraiyaGallantSage Thanks and cool color choice :)

  • shid i paint and after i dnt b needin to cut and buff its all on how u spray yo clear

  • @lil1daman60 Speek English and then learn something about what you want to discuss before Bullshitting..

  • why high solids clear?

  • @Mr513phill I can tell you all you want to here about high solid Euro clear ,but unless you see for your own eyes the depth and durability of high solids its amazing and second to none.1 coat is almost equal to 2 coats of standard clear. The spray technique is a little different but all is well worth it for a special car you are working on .talk to your paint tech that you deal with and see what he says . If this is for an everyday driver this clear is not for this

  • @gtogus712 What's the most expensive clear sold per gallon on the market?? It's not house of kolor rite?

  • @LetMrAL1 Standox is about 500 with the hardner ,, Spies Hecker and Glasurit are way cheaper all great lines of paint to use , I prefer Standox .I think it's the most expensive not saying that means it's the best but even if it was cheaper that's what I prefer to use . Outstanding final product.

  • finger !! in camera !! lol

  • @KTCustomz Too hard to hold that IPhone ,, LOL.

  • @gtogus712 i like it looks pretty cool . just kinda bugs me cuz i paint to i see the edge lines along all the flames when they were taped off . i dont like that i like everything completely smooth ya know . i like it tho petty baddass . i got some of the stuff ive painted on here on my channel

  • @KTCustomz I block the piss out of it started with 800,1000,1200,1500 and 2000 no more lines 4 coats of Standox HS clear does the job flat as hell.

  • @gtogus712 o really ? ya thats how much i do on my work . but i go to 2500 and skip the 1200 . same diff. really . i like it tho . most people dont take the time to do the finish work they just lay down the clear have orange peel and let it go and not care . but that makes the job that much better taking the wet sand and cleaning it up . i only said i thought i could see some little edges is all . i usually use chroma clear from dupont it lays out pretty heavy nice build .

  • @KTCustomz NOT ONLY PAINTING BUT WET SANDING THE RIGHT WAY AND BUFFING WILL SHOW YOUR FINAL PRODUCT AND QUALITY.

  • looks good what clear did you use? been looking into house of kolor paints and cant decide on a clear.

  • @asiam30 I used house of kolors paint but don't care for there clear ,, you want kick ass high end clear go with Standox HS clear about $ 550 with the hardner for 5 litre , you will not be dissapointed . I did 3 coats of clear to flatten out the lines.

  • @gtogus712 googled that standox clear, your right that stuff kicks ass. Seems like everyone who used the clear and or the system for collision repair loves it. i wonder if i could convince my boss to switch over to standox, i spray dupont everyday and i hate that shit. standox clear is expensive though and i will have to think about if im gonna use it on my car, NO dupont is tuching my car though. thanks for the info gtogus.

  • @asiam30 Standox does have great color match.you are using Dupont which is a good production paint for pushing cars out the door with factory quality. Standox is a lot more expensive to use that would be the reason shops would go with more production paint system, Dupont is the best of the cheaper line of American paint systems with descent color match. If you wondering about the cost of Srandox for your car , I would just think of it as a 500 dollar investment into your car .

  • @gtogus712 Good point about the 500 dollar investment in quality and i love the way your car turned out. I dont like dupont and we are going to switch brands soon. Talked to other body shop painters and all having the same problem with color match like me with dupont. Some shops have already switched to sikkens and rm paints. much better system for color match and better support from the reps so i am told. But we will see i guess. Thanks again gto

  • @asiam30 Don't switch to sikkens there colors are worse than Dupont ,, no joke . The shop I use to do my jobs in has sikkens and all the jobs have color problems . I bring in my own material for my personal jobs because I refuse to use that stuff. Standox and Spies Hecker have great color match right on the money. What kind of car do you have ?

  • @gtogus712 I have a 1971 ford torino, but its not a fast back its a formal roof. It took me a very long time to find that car in that body style and in good shape. Its the same year and style of car my dad had when he started dating my mom. I also have a 429 to drop in it lol.

  • @asiam30 That I a very nice car you don't see many of them ..

  • @gtogus712 Thanks gto and thanks for all the paint info, think i will use the same products you did. that paint job looks fricken GREAT!!

  • @asiam30 Good choice , glad to help out.

  • @gtogus712 well we switched to RM and i am loving it, glamor clear flows out real nice i use it on the big jobs. Its nice to be able to pick a color and spray it with out having to tint the crap out of it. i have not tinted once since the switch so far but its only been two weeks.

  • @asiam30 hey thats really cool ,good to see you are working with something that makes your job easier .I have used RM before ,years ago I worked for Gerber and when Boyd bought them out they switched to RM.

  • @gtogus712 boyd autobody? my boss's uncle is some top dog for boyd autobody here in canada. he looks after a bunch of shops.
