This film is very interesting, original and soooooo underrated. Jennifer Lopez is great actress no matter what. Visual effects reminded me of Madonna's 'Bedtime Story' (video) a little bit. Anyway, The Cell is one of the most overlooked Sci-Fi films of the 2000's (along with Supernova, Mission to Mars, Evolution, Ultraviolet, Equilibrium, Cube 2, Alien Lockdown, Serenity, Signs, Hulk, Avatar (2004), Ghosts of Mars, A Sound of Thunder)

He sickly organizes his train of thoughts in such a way because he feels his mother is useless because she didn't protect him from his father. He sees all women as weak, plastic and freakish objects and threats.

He sees himself as a King to undermine his extreme insecurity and feelings inside.

He imagines women in strange ways because that's the ideal he obtained from his mother failing to protect him.

He sees himself as both beast and good.
