Dear Stevie Jobs, I have a Nokia E72 and even if I touch it "unappropriately" it still doesn't drop calls. Secondly, I could have bought 5 or 6 Nokia E72's for the price of an iPhone 4, so please shut the fuck up and at least give the user a working phone. We can find anything else that iPhone does and a whole lot more in cheaper, better made handsets.
I remember watching this last year, wondering to buy an iPhone 4 or not, i got one in september and until today,,,,, not a single droped call, or at least i did not noticed any. Stupid thing that apple enemies tried to make a big deal out of it.
@mobinmahmoudi The problem is not "stupid." The dropped calls are mostly from certain areas where connection is bad. And there are no apple "enemies" there are only people that disagree with apple.
1. The signal trully lost. No call at all with 1bar. New OS is just a trick.
2. What if I sell you a phone and ask you to buy a case to improve the signal? I've been waiting for what you said: "Lets give everybody a case". We still have to buy them with money, not words.

My iPhone 4 cuts out ALL the time. Sent it in to get fixed under warranty and was given a new phone as it's a 'known fault'. This new one does the same thing!! AND the iPhone 4 I borrowed form my friend while mine was getting fixed did the same thing! So, to say that it's a small percentage of customers is very disingenuous. Apple should be less cynical in their treatment of customers :-(
Did you see what they exactly did? They changed it so that the bars don't go low and they changed the length of the lower bars so that it doesn't look as bad when the reception is low! Google it!

For example, Iphone to iphone 3G don't have front camera, video recording, can't send file via bluetooth, etc. My old Nokia phone could do all these things and it cost 1/3 of the iphone. i don't mind Apple product if they don't try to rip people off. apparently , people love to get rip off by Apple.
iPhone 4 does have signal issues. I helped buy iPhone 4 for 3 of my friends and let me tell you they still have the most $hittiest reception ever. Call drops, 3G signal is weak. Its horrible. But they still bought it cuz they like the apps.
As a phone it sucks but as an entertainment device, its the king.

@Prodigytechus. Only difference is, Is that iphones /ipads/ipod touches are easy to work with. If something goes wrong if you jailbreak you can do a restore on itunes and you gt your warranty back. Unrooting on a droid however isn't easy , And you have a better chance of bricking your device. Moral of the story is- Don't root or jailbreak. I had my ipad /ipod touch 4 jailbroken and went back to stock ios.

Lets be honest... this antenna design was brand new. noone can tell that a new thing will work immediatley. The next iphone will probably fixed. EG. windows vista was sh*t. Windows 7 is the good version of vista. Vista was only crap because it was such a huge jump away from previous versions.
I first owned the iPhone 3G and I recently upgraded to the 4. All I can say is these phones do what I always wanted them to do, the only difference between them is the technological improvements in the 4. Both are high quality phones. These phones are incredible. Apple is an outstanding company and I trust them completely.
I have owned an iPhone 4 since Christmas and have NEVER experienced the death grip. I even tried to purposely cause it and only lost one damn bar of service. I just love how everyone online that are making this a big deal probably don't own the device to begin with. Or they just love to pounce on whatever mistake they can find.
stop complaining about the iphone 4, people have tested it and it only happens when you hold it in a very tight grip so don't hold it so tight and get a bumper, it's more protective for the glass on both sides aswell

The iphone 4 has a glass screen that feels better made and you can see it in light/sun. And also the iphone has way more apps. You are clearly a android fanboy and if you have used both of them in person like me you'd know the iphones better.
@wescoolya You can't generalise all Android phones to having plastic screens etc. I have the Samsung Galaxy S2 which has a Gorilla Glass screen, 4.3 inches, Super AMOLED Plus display which works perfect in sunlight. I'm not being fanboyish it's just technically my phone is of higher spec than the iPhone and technically is better.

@wescoolya 1.2ghz dual core processor opposed to the 1ghz A4. 1gb RAM. Larger screen. 1080p recording and 8 megapixel camera. 2mp front facing camera. Can do video calling over 3G networks as opposed to the iPhone which is restricted to wifi. Android can save all file types instead of just multimedia files and actually has a file management system unlike the iPhone. And all the reasons I specified in the first comment. I wasn't talking about competing, it is just technically better.

But he then downplays in such an arrogant way - and has the audacity to use YouTube videos as an example, when he clearly shuns YouTube for having 'amateur' content.... It's just sad. In any case, I still think the iPhone 4 is a great product, and it would be my favorite if it weren't for the antenna issue and Apple locking it down.
All of the "other videos" showing competition phones having the same gripping problem are uploaded by "Apple" user. hmm. Also unless other phones have the actual metal antenna exposed so that you ground it when you hold it - like the iPhone 4 - then this could be the case. But a $0.0005 piece of scotch tape fixes it. The issue with the phone isn't that bad, but Apple's marketing strategy of slandering the competition as a defence is why I will never buy another Apple product in my life.

Lets be honest... this antenna design was brand new. noone can tell that a new thing will work immediatley. The next iphone will probably fixed. EG. windows vista was sh*t. Windows 7 is the good version of vista. Vista was only crap because it was such a huge jump away from previous versions.

I first owned the iPhone 3G and I recently upgraded to the 4. All I can say is these phones do what I always wanted them to do, the only difference between them is the technological improvements in the 4. Both are high quality phones. These phones are incredible. Apple is an outstanding company and I trust them completely.

I have owned an iPhone 4 since Christmas and have NEVER experienced the death grip. I even tried to purposely cause it and only lost one damn bar of service. I just love how everyone online that are making this a big deal probably don't own the device to begin with. Or they just love to pounce on whatever mistake they can find.

stop complaining about the iphone 4, people have tested it and it only happens when you hold it in a very tight grip so don't hold it so tight and get a bumper, it's more protective for the glass on both sides aswell

No. Can the iPhone handle other filetypes but multimedia files? No. Overall, is the iPhone very restricted in terms of what it can do? Yes. Is Android restricted? No.
Therefore Android phones are better. You just can't admit that all you own is just a fashion statement.

@StapledNote well guess what, i have an iphone 4. ok? it has an amazing screen. My friend has an android optimus. He cant see the screen when hes in light and it has a plastic feel to it and it. The iphone 4 has a glass screen that feels better made and you can see it in light/sun. And also the iphone has way more apps. You are clearly a android fanboy and if you have used both of them in person like me you'd know the iphones better.

@wescoolya You can't generalise all Android phones to having plastic screens etc. I have the Samsung Galaxy S2 which has a Gorilla Glass screen, 4.3 inches, Super AMOLED Plus display which works perfect in sunlight. I'm not being fanboyish it's just technically my phone is of higher spec than the iPhone and technically is better.

@wescoolya 1.2ghz dual core processor opposed to the 1ghz A4. 1gb RAM. Larger screen. 1080p recording and 8 megapixel camera. 2mp front facing camera. Can do video calling over 3G networks as opposed to the iPhone which is restricted to wifi. Android can save all file types instead of just multimedia files and actually has a file management system unlike the iPhone. And all the reasons I specified in the first comment. I wasn't talking about competing, it is just technically better.

@StapledNote All you need to do on an iphone is jailbreak it and you can do anything you want and nothings restricted, you can get all the apps for free. Alot more apps, And android copied a whole whack of shit from the iphone! On my friends optimus all the icons for the apps were copied from the iphone and the camera app was the exact same when you went in to it!! And when your in a call theres more options to do stuff on an iphone and Text message lengths arent restricted!

There is no defect on the iphone. If you touch the connection between UMTS and Bluetooth antenna current is flowing through your fingers and the antenna lenght is changed to a non resonant one. It has to happen with this antenna design. And for shure Apple was well aware of it ! What do you want? a big plastik isolation like on most other phones which loos ugly ? A bigger phone with internal antenna ?? Be happy that apple gives you a case, because they made absolutely no mistake!

All of the "other videos" showing competition phones having the same gripping problem are uploaded by "Apple" user. hmm. Also unless other phones have the actual metal antenna exposed so that you ground it when you hold it - like the iPhone 4 - then this could be the case. But a $0.0005 piece of scotch tape fixes it. The issue with the phone isn't that bad, but Apple's marketing strategy of slandering the competition as a defence is why I will never buy another Apple product in my life.

Mr. Jobs this has been blown "so out of proportion" because you blow every little incremental update your company makes "our of proportion". Also, most other phones do not have a death grip that cuts out signal altogether.
Yes a case does solve the problem and its not that big of a deal, but when you act in a pretentious way overstating each little good thing about your creations, people are going to treat their shortcomings with similar gravitas.
