Excellent video - helped me strip the phone down and replace the screen unit with one off eBay. Thankfully, only need to get to the removal of the motherboard (5:40)
i think this all gr8 and all but in my opinion u should finish the videos with the" rebuilding of" or "putting it" back to normal factor cause by the time i've gotten to the the replacement part i've totally 4got how to put everything back :)
@yyavve Well that's your fault. This is one of the more technically challenging phones to repair. You started on something you are not technically skilled enough to to, it's your fault, not the video. The video is quite good.
@InjuredGadgets Hey, great video! I only saw the first two minutes to realize how easy it was to remove the volume flex cable, which I'm having problems with. Tried cleaning the contacts, but didn't worked. What would you recommend me to do, change the whole board or just the external buttons?
isnt it possible to just remove the broken glas+digitizer from the front and replace it with a full new glas+digitizer? the glas of my desire hd is broken but digitizer and lcd is still functioning perfect. i just dont want to risk a broken cable.. wouldnt it be enough to remove the back case to put in the connectors of the new digitizer?
@freakgoingunder Hey, thats what i did with my phone after taking it apart one time before, i noticed theres no need to take everything out to get the screen and digitizer out, altough it is still very risky. I was able to fix mine, this way. You will need to take out the part thats plastic and has 3 screws, thats covers sd and sim card. To disconnect the screen ribbon. Any questions inbox me!
great video but i was wondering, i took the metal bar out thats below the battery and cant seem to remember where to put the cables so it goes all the way down, any help?
Great video, honestly! I've got a question, you remove some things which were attached with an adhesive, do I need to put them back on with an ahesive, too? That would mean I need to get an adhesive, but what kind?
@iDesignzGFx There is not a simpler way. The Inspire Is one of the more technical repairs and has to be completely broken down to access the touch screen glass.
Great video. Now I have a question. I was able to get 3 out of the 5 screws out. Two will NOT budge. Any suggestions? I may have stripped one but the other one is just not working with me at all.
i took my phone to get the screen replaced but they said now it wont power on it will charge but not turn on i pressed down the power button but nothing happened could they have done something wrong plz help
@Fraire18 Does it make any sound when connecting it to a USB cable or computer? If it does they likely damaged the LCD during installation. If there is no sound at all, and it worked before you gave it to them, then yes they might have damaged something internally.
@InjuredGadgets No it doesnt make any sounds at all it will charge showing the battery and percentage though it always displays 95% but just about a few hours ago i got it to actually turn on and played with it but when i installed everything back together it wont turn on i dont know if theres something wrong with the power button or anything
@InjuredGadgets well i just pressed the battery up against the prong deal good and snug and every once in a blue moon it completely come on i dont know what the deal is with the phone but your probably right its not the power button though i tried powering it on with the power button with the battery inserted but still wont come on
well i descided to give it a go and ripped that spotted paper under the black tape lcd still works should i stop now and send to htc or keep going?

My volume up button does not work most of the time, and I usually have to push super hard to make it work? Any thoughts? I'm used to iphones.

The Desire HD is a little bit diffrent it seems.
Since the connector for the charging your phone is diffrent on the Inspire than the Desire HD?
Tried to repair it myself, but the motherboard would NOT come out. :/

Great video. Just fixed my Inspire using it. The tea rdown was a little time consuming but well worth it. Saved a ton of money.

@sharbear36 Try a slightly larger screwdriver like a T6 or some type of flathead to get it out.

Very timely, I just dropped this phone and now the screen doesn't work. The backlight comes on but there is no picture.
Thanks for uploading this video!
