Wow, i come back here after a year or so and i see 34 likes for my comment!? im glad to see that im not the only one who thinks the same way about Kyd! That guy deserves more awareness when it comes to video game music truly ya know? But...its really sad that IOI dropped the ball for Kyd in Hitman 5....it wont ever be the same without the guy because he MADE Hitman for what it was. Hitmans soundtrack played a huge part in bringing that atmosphere to life and thats why i said he is a damn genius!
Whispering sounds to me (after listening to this piece 100 times) like "FELICITA VIVAT ADORA" which would mean "happiness, live, worship" in Latin... Happiness doesn't make sense unless it's sarcastic.. I'd somehow guarantee "vivat adora" is correct, the first part might be something else. But anyway it's just me and my ears.. It could just be apophenia..
@nothke It's actually "Requiem, Eterna Donna, Eis" which is cut down from the lyrics in the Hitman 2 main title "Requiem, eterna donna, eis domine, et lux perpetua". They're the words of the Latin Reqiuem (funeral) mass, which many composers have used over the ages and written (check out Mozart's and Gabriel Faure's Requiems, among others).
is the whispering in english? I've been wondering for so long what shes saying. Im hearing "can you hear beyond the other lullaby" doesnt make sense, but yea lol.
@Erv187 Thats no whispering. As musician myself i can tell you what it is: Its a synth. A Musicly effect, played, like a guitar or any other instrument you imagine.
@Erv187 Yes it is. I would say its some noise oscillation, with a thick deep reverb. But it could also be some timestretched percussion....maybe reverse....Music is a deep journey, and nothing is what it seems. If you hear a orchester piece in an game, its most times never played by an real orchester. Its an program on an computer, like East West - Hollywood Strings. You can search for it here on youtube, and see for yourself whats possible with an computer.
@TheAPC91 your right, it's amazing how far weve come with technology. the fact that electronics can almost just about replicate the real thing, such as electronic drum sets (roland TD-20) keyboards (phantom x7, x9, weighted keys) sound like the damn real thing.
the thing is jesper kyd used a real orchestra while producing music for these hitman games. i'm sure he mixed in music softwares in aswell. "hitman 2" was more orchestral, while 3 and up started getting more electronic.
@Erv187 Exactly! Rocky Mountains, is my favoured piece from Hitman BM. I would bet my ass, that the intro is sampled from the legendary "Jaws" Theme. But i guess thats just me. I personally have to say, those ambient tracks are much more interesting. The drums, you hear the rattle at the end of the snare? Probably some delay with reverb, I LOVE searchin around for stuff like that. Most times you drive better, by just asking the composer himself. Jesper is on twitter and facebook by the way.
Man, I remember this playing while I was perusing the target's household on "A New Life". The song carried on while I headed and soon took up residence in a nearby tree house with my air rifle and sleep darts at the ready.
@RottSimba Yes.. They are whispering in regret of crossing the roads of 47. They wish to warn you to not make the same mistakes as they did. Whispers in pain, left for no mercy.
Jesper Kyd V.S. Mozart . We all know who wins

@nothke You're wrong: it's not "FELICITA VIVAT ADORA" it's "REQUIEM AETERNAM DONA" which means "Grant them eternal rest".
