  • very sloppy though, screws ropping everywhere how do u remember whats what ?

  • My boats motor has 6 cylinders and the two bottom cylinders aren't working what can I do

  • A lot of mechanics use power tools. Especially flat-rate mechanics. Time is money! Ever replace bulldozer track pads with hand tools? (most everybody is asking "what's track pads?")

  • I only watched about 30 seconds of this. What I saw tells me this dude knows what he is doing, just by the clean, well lit work area. golfcartractor should take note. I think he finally gave up 'cause his videos are all gone. FCC may have shut him down due to his profanity. Anyway, flyscooters, it's refreshing to see someone who seems to know what he is doing instead of other people who haven't a clue, yet post these "how to" videos in scroungy, dank, filthy garages.

  • @supagog It seems that carb clean has affected you. Or do you normally type that way? (lack of caps, poor spelling, rotton punctuation, etc.)

  • damn ...one more year in college and you could have worked on real bikes not scooters...when your 50 people will call you scooter chris ...not harley chris

  • thank you. with your vid, I fixed the carb nearly instantly. I ALWAYS dreaded carburetors.

  • I think using a electric screw driver on the carbs is a sure way to strip screws.

Also when you remove the pilot jet look through it to see if you can see daylight through the small hole. That is a large percentage of the problem many times.

  • @lucky51762

Screws are the least of the concern, those can be retapped. Overtorqueing and not following a proper tighten sequence is the primary cause of damage to carb's. I dont see a issue with using a power drill when it comes to removeing the main bolts and screws. But would never suggest using one to put them back in.

  • Good video, I hope your only using the drill for the video. I've seen lazy people before, but... WOW.

Bet you complain about "cheap bolts and screws striping out" all the time huh?

  • Best idea a person has ever had. Lets tell people how to clean a carburetor, even better lets play music in the background so people can barely hear what im saying.

  • That carb looks like new! We got a used carb for a 12HP Kohler engine (engine had been converted to LPG which was not liked so a petrol carb was needed) eBay to the rescue. The carb was filthy, so bad that the US machinery dealer just fitted a new one & sold the gummed one! We boiled the carb in a pan of water on a log stove down the shed (NOT on SWMBOs cooker!) Aluminium foil was added to the water. Carb came up like new! The genset now starts easily and boils a 2.4KW kettle with ease.

  • thank u for the info sounds complex

  • that music is so annoying

  • cheers man good work

  • Search "PWC carburetor Fast Fix" another resource and is in HD

  • Hello,

he is doing a good job cleaning this carburetor, but there is an easier way and more effective way always using air to blow out the passages set at 120 pounds PSI also use a sonic cleaner water and simple green run it through at its highest setting two times.

And them blow carburetor passages out at 120 pounds PSI perfectly a clean carburetor is the result.

    Thank you

  • He forgot to blow air in to the jets after he sprayed them with that carburatour cleaner .That thing is acid, left there too long it can ruin the jets. But he seems a good mechanic. He should just pay more atention at his work and be more organised.

  • I dont know what I did wrong, but I tried removing the screws and they immediately stripped off

  • @Zmann1218 Did you use a drill? You really shouldn't. Sorry to hear that they stripped

  • @logos2600 Yeah, it's all good though, I was able to find a replacement for $20, now my scooters running like brand new :)

  • 4:15 Where's your safety glasses brutha?

  • 1) never use a drill on white metals they are too soft. 2) dont shake carbs small parts inside can fall out. 3) control springs that you know are there, again, small parts. 3 strikes your out you are a failure at being a mechanic.

  • @Enter1ngsandman LMFAO!! I was thinkin' the same thing.

  • U should show first how u take it off from bile. Not happy with video.((((

  • what a ars hole are u to lazy to use a screw driver?? dam u just killing the carb if i see u working:(

  • not bad, learnt a few things here

  • Carb cleaner ruins the rubber o-rings, and diaphragm.

  • the messiest job ever seen

  • @giulio1982 How the Fu#% is that the messiest job you ever seen? you live in a bubble or something? i have been a supercross tech for 6 years now! that's clean

  • @2008yam if you keep float pin, spring, screws all around the table, moving the carb here and there, with cables flopping around... that is a messy job. How can you show someone who's never done something like this in this way? it's like you say, guys the important thing is to open this thing up. Putting it together is your own business.

I get to clean 4 or 6 carbs together, and if I do the same as you did in this video, with no method, I'd me screwed myself.

  • very un organized .... i wont be surprised if u lose a screw or some parts

  • @beemerdoctor1 your just dumb! all i can say

  • Comment removed

  • hey, i have that drill

  • why does everyone working in a shop lose there hair so did i

  • I want to buy a 2004 silver wing scooter that has not been started in the past 24 months. It has 3000 miles. What service do I need to do before I crank it up? HELP!

  • @Umaxen Just put fresh fuel in and a fresh battery and try starting it, if it doesnt start theres only 2 reasons, 1. spark plug, make sure theres a good spark, if the sparks ok then the problem will be stale fuel in the carb and you should watch this video and learn how to clean it, most likey it will start without messing with the carb as 2 years is not a long time to be sat realy.

  • Thankyou

  • So, does this confirm that those carb cleaner sprays don't really work well unless you disassemble the carb?

  • @ScarredHand lol you shouldnt need a video to confirm that mate, if your blasting carb cleaner into your carb then your just blasting dirt round the inside blocking all the jets and making it worse. Pul it apart and spray the dirt out of the carb not into the carb.

  • very good tips !!!! thanks!!! your homie doug

  • it is leaking from the bottom of the carb where a tube is connected to a thing.. i dont know what to call it. its being a pain and it never leaked before. not the fuel line, but the same type of connection piece where the tube is attatched. from the looks of it, it goes into the float bowl.

  • I cleaned out the Carb on my 48cc dirt bike (its all from japan or vietnam, so the parts are all off brand) and after i did so, and i put it back together. i turned thefuel back on and it started pouring out the fuel. I have NO clue what i did wrong or didnt do. Could you please give me some advice?

  • @jjim456 You have mis-adjusted the float in your float bowl and now instead of shutting the fuel off when the bowl is full it is coming out of the overflow tube you mentioned, re-adjust your float so that it pushes the needle fully home.

  • @robertgisthebest

so would that be the pin that holds the float on? how would i do so?

  • @jjim456 It varies from carb to carb, on mine there is a small steel flap attached to the floats and i simply have to bend the tab. Before you start bending things though i would suggest you remove the needle and clean out the passage to make sure theres nothing stopping the needle from seating properly.

  • nice video....

  • @RoadKen53 thank you!

  • Next time try cleaning a carb that actually needs cleaning!

  • rawdman5 - how many people do you know who got hand cancer from getting oily? Dumbass, pass my cigarettes!

  • @jonny24667995 No kidding. what a joke.

  • Dude where are your rubber gloves ? You are going to get cancer...

  • lol wtf? faggot nerd.

  • @rawdman5 HAHAHAHAAH you gotta be kidding me... thats a new low for being a safety freak...

    LMFAO

  • woo that's allot of works with the unpackaging : D

  • yo, i just cleaned the carb on my gn 125 with carb cleaner....its off like a gooden now...cheers

  • A few suggestions -

First . . Focus the camera.

Second . . Next time use an actual dirty carb.

Thanks though for giving it the ole college try.

  • dude you should wear safety goggles when you spray that carb cleaner cus I got some in my eye and it hurt so bad I almost blacked out I was dizzy

  • I got brake cleaner in my eye once, I just sat under the faucet for 10 minutes to be sure. You never know how that stuff is going to fly around, always wear eye protection.

  • @jackdonkey22 If you're REALLY good, just do it with your eyes closed :P

  • The best way to remove the carburetor is to loosen all the screws that ties it down to other parts of the motor, ie, the air box, and the intake manifold. Once you loosen those piece, just slowly wiggle the carburetor out. However, unless you have a good knowledge, I do not recommend you clean the carburetor yourself, any misplacement of the carburetor or missing pieces will render the carburetor useless.

  • I think the sound was okay but I second the removal of the carb would be very helpful. Also, maybe for another time you could do a vid on how to rejet. Anyways, your videos help me a ton, tyvm!!!

  • hey guys, I agree with ftmjake about the sound. and also, a video showing how to remove the carb would be helpful as well. I'm pretty sure my Cadenza's in need of a good cleaning, but I'm a little unsure as to how to pull it out and do it. Maybe it'll be a little easier to remove when I'm actually looking at it, though.

  • @Oniisan608 says...."Maybe it'll be a little easier to remove when I'm actually looking at it, though." BRILLIANT

  • you definately need to mic this better, and/or lose the background music.
