It's funny the scarry houses are fancy ones. They start out as high class when first built. Then they get old and get a lot of history then a lot of them get supernatural. Maybe in a lot of old fancy houses people that lived there don't want to leave after they die. I know in this movie there's more going on like parrellel dimension and evil beings.

I love this movie! It's one of the first horror movies I saw as a little kid and was fun as hell. I know it's a good movie when I watched it again a few months ago and had just as much fun and possibly more than I did in my youth.

The other one isn't a remake, it is based off of a book that was published a few years back. This one was released back in the '80s with actors from Cheers and Night Court!
