Saw this come up when watching another video. Thought, "yeah-ah, that's right, burbs rock" and then "that kinda looks like my burb" and then "by golly, that IS my burb".
I had a 98 Land Rover Discovery that I put $12k into since 2006 and just couldn't take the costs of repairing it anymore, so I bought a 2004 Z71 Suburban last week and it gets twice the gas mileage my Disco got. The Disco was amazing in the snow, so I'm kind of anxious to see how the Suburban compares.
I sold my 02 z71 suburban three months ago when gas hit $4 a gal. Replaced it with a 5 series BMW (better MPG), miss the burban so much I dont care about gas anymore. bought another one yesterday and I cant wait for the snow! Can I get an AMEN?
I have a '99 LT 4x4 5.7L. The thing with Burbans, is that they are SOOOO heavy, they don't crawl over the snow, like a light Jeep with big tires. The Burban just PUSHES everything out of the way. Even without a plow on the front, I pushed my way through 2ft of snow down my 100ft driveway a few years back.
All you need is some decent tires with traction for snow and ice. I'm just using some cheaper BFG Long Trails, and even they do well enough. Also, I live in Western WA. VERY HEAVY snow here.
@danomaha420118 probably, depends a lot on the driver though... good luck, we got a 95 suburban 2500 with the 454 and 4 wheel drive, but being 2500, its a completely different truck, MUCH stiffer suspension...
@phototony suburban 2500? how is it in the sand and rocks? (if you know) we live in the desert, just got one, and haven't had a chance to do any hard 4 wheelin.
when my uncle had his 07 suburban all he did was accelerate at full speed and he's all good, he used to clear our driveway for us sometimes with his 4x4 suburban.
i guess we will have to do that fr him now, since he has an Oddysey now and we got a 4x4 Chevy traverse!!
i remember one time i got stuck in the deep ass mud with 6 of my friends trying to push it out, we were all drunk!!!! then i was like ....wait a minute......I HAVE FOUR WHEEL DRIVE!!! LOL, so i put it in 4 wheel drive, then my 95 suburban got out with no problems!!! thats what you get when you get drunk and pull off the highway and start doing donuts!!!, the state trooper drove buy to help us, but it was too late, lucky he didnt smell our breathes, and didnt see us do donuts. he didnt ask lol!!
Where in the country is this?.....looks absolutely beautiful & peaceful....nice to see a nice stock Suburban showing it's capabilities...not all jacked up and loud..just getting the job done quietly and comfortably...good job!
