@seokyulove My favorite type of brush for cookies is a stiff nylon brush. I usually find them in the "fabric painting" section of my local craft store.
This may be duplicate request, I don't think my first one posted. I am going try to make the daisy cookies for this weekend. I wanted to know what kind/size brush you use? I bought some decorating brushes but they do not look as big as yours. Also any tips on being successful on cutting out the cookies. I have not done this for a long time. I usually get frustrated and give up, but am determined to be successful.
It's hard to say because it all depends on how thick or thin you like your icing as well as how big your cookies are, but you should easily be able to decorate 3 dozen cookies with one batch of icing.
This was really, really helpful. There are all of these cookie cook books featuring cookies that are iced with royal icing, but NONE of them want to tell you exactly how to do it. Plus, you shared your icing recipe. This video is super-helpful and super awesome.
Hello, good video, me encantaria who sent me the recipe for your biscuits and I explain to you like you are flat and that at the time of cocion not inflen, thank you thank you.
i love decorating cookies but ive never hand painted them with a brush, have you ever had shedding occur while painting? what type of brushes exactly did you use? thanks!
Thank you for the decorating tips. I am going to attempt to make cookies for my daughter's baby shower. Do you have a good recipe for the cookie? also do you have any good ideas for a baby girl shower. Thank you so much.
Thank you for the recipe! I am all set to bake and decorate, as soon as my cookie cutter arrives! I practiced on some heart cookies yesterday with Wilton cookie icing, but am glad I will be able to make my own.
4 teaspoons vanilla (use clear if possible to keep icing white)
2 Tablespoons milk
6-10 Tablespoons water (start with 6 and add as necessary to achieve the consistency that you want)
2 Tablespoons Light Corn Syrup
Mix together until smooth. Divide and add food coloring as desired. (I put mine in my stand mixer and let it mix for a good 4-5 minutes and then let it rest another 5 minutes or so before I start mixing colors.)
I loved the paint brush idea. I did not think of that. That makes it very easy. When making alot of cookies you want as easy as can be. Thanks for the tip.
It is not royal icing. Royal icing doesn't taste very good in my opinion. It is a glaze type of icing that hardens on the surface enough that you can stack the cookies, but when you bite into the cookies, you won't break off a tooth! If you check the comments to my other cookie videos I believe I posted the recipe on one of them.
I agree, Meladig. The only set backs are corn syrup icing takes quite a while to set up so you can add another layer of color on top. They also get very sticky if left near moisture/humidity. This is my preferred icing. It leaves a beautiful finish and tastes great! Nice work!

@seokyulove You can use royal icing, but it will be hard when dry, not taste as good, and is more difficult to paint with.

What kind of Icing is that. Is it Royal Icing? Becuase you said it hardens.
