I know this song, and thought i liked it, but wow, too many words and too low in his register to comfortably sing into that tinny mic and be heard. I cant imagine anyone being comfortable with this, though, what ab awkwardly written song. pS Duke Fame in Spinal Tap was named after Georgie right?
I'm pretty sure I saw this when it aired! I'd cut my teeth on the Beatles and didn't know quite what to make of this because it was jazzy and not guitar-driven. Some years later, I decided I had to have a copy! Thanks for posting! When it hit #1, the Beatles wrote, "Congratulations, Georgie lad, yer mum should be proud. /s/ The Beatles (a band)" Noel Redding, later w/Jimi Hendrix, was also in the Blue Flames for a while.
hahaha..I remember this song when friendster was still a social networking site..I made the testiflash tribute of it as part of my profile background music..hehehe

This is great! Georgie Fame was an important part of my growing up and musical enlightenment. He was a local guy whose band was often on at the clubs around West London - a fabulous talent! I saw him a few years ago at a club in New York. He's still great! I'm glad to come across this stuff on Youtube!

Safe to assume these audience members were extras in, "Night Of The Living Dead." Good Lord! I do love how Georgie & The Flames are playing live and not to some canned music track!
I think the babes in the audience were a foreshadowing of Georgie Fame's career... they looked bored and confused. I think Brian Epstein was stifling a yawn.
I love this song, and loved it when it was new. Those were the days, my friend.
YEH YEH! An enormous hit record in 1965. I had the temerity to play this tune on the trombone in a North Pier Blackpool show that year. If only I could now!
Wow I was 15 when this came out thanks for the memories john1948five wow where did life go I said YEH YEH. This song is so upbeat you got to love it thanks again what chills to think back to those times
Georgie was completely unique, and mixed R&B / jazz/ latin american/ and pop, and with the Blue Flames was the first British band to feature Hammond organ and bongo drums throughout their repertoire.
When "Yeh Yeh" was issued as a single, it had a groovy B side called "Bidin my Time".
Another one of Georgie's album tracks which was of equal quality ( as most were), was "Do-Re-Mi". Fantastic band !
