My big test was in 2006 when I went thru two blizzards in Wyoming: the first on I-80 near Elk Mountain,Wy on the way to Salt Lake City,Ut from Omaha,Ne, then in Cheyenne,Wy coming from Idaho on the way to North Carolina. What made it dangerous was truckers and other motorists driving too fast around me. Visibility was poor and I-80 was covered in snow. But safe driving saved my life. thats what counts.
