  • Stanley is more expensive than the other markets in the city.. It's really there for the tourists..

  • Very useful vid. I am transitting through HK in July and have a few hours there. Really lookin g forward to the shopping though :)

  • It's a little different than when I used to live near there in the early 90's.. The roof was never covered.. I do remember it being bigger and wider however I was much younger. I used to skateboard down to Stanley from Chom Hom Kok where I lived down the back alleys.. My memory was before HK got taken over they used to sell many tshirts with the Hong Kong going back to china with a man plastering up a flag of china over UK flag on the front.. I would love to go back there one day.

  • It's a fun day out, we just got some souviniers but nothing special, I prefer Temple Street Market which has a much better atmosphere. Stanley Beach is nearby which was pretty cool to chill for a few hours.

  • the further away from the center of the market, the cheaper the prices for the exact same stuff.

  • Yep. When I take people there, I tell them to look, but dont buy till they get to the far end, then buy on the way out. Oh, and the lady with the good silk shirt prices, moved her shop up one street. Half way down the left side alley of Stanley market, there is a side alley that goes up hill. Go up it, then turn left at the first street to find her shop.

  • I love this place.
