  • congratz on passing :), how much did it cost you to get your CPL? and, are you going on to get your ATPL? fly for britosh airways :P?

  • yay for you passing:-)

  • how much time you have to fly? And CONGRATS!

  • Very nice nice.... :) I'm going for my PPL, (Private Pilots License *Canada*) And hopefully will make it to this point someday. Nice display of skill.

  • Hi,I have a question, im not entirely sure you could anwser but here goes. I very badly want to be a pilot for the love of flight, however i have whats knows a mild cerebal pausy, affecting my right arm hand- to elabortate this means i have a lowered dexterity and strength in that hand. however i can complete tasks such as driveing, playing guitar, swiming, lifting, i hold a paraglider liscence.i can turn knobs/pull levers just not as pretty as you. would that get me a medical pass/ green light?

  • good job mate! What are you up to these days?

  • Is that a baron

  • If you made a mistake, what would happen? Will the instructor command you to circle back and retry or start all over again from the start(Land and do it on another day) ?

  • @traineepilot57 Depends on the severity of the mistake. For example forgetting to set trim during pre-takeoff would generally result in him asking you to taxi home as it's an "undesired aircraft state" gotta love TEM management

Any time the safety of the aircraft is compromised and the candidate doesn't respond quickly and effectively or intervention is required generally results in a fail.

But If you get off track during your nav it's ok, as long as you correct. a few minor mistakes are ok

  • @NikySportsPromotion its a piper

  • Where are the guns mounted on this aircraft?

  • what type of airplane where you flying?

  • @SuperChargers3185 It looked like a Beechcraft Baron but a Piper Archer is another possibility. Both are common multi engine/ commercial trainers

  • If you get a commercial Multi does that cover single engine too? Or do u have to do a seperate check ride in a single engine .????

    D

  • so, today you got a job with any airline????

  • congrates dude,u look soo smart, can u plz tell me the reuquirements for CPL and is maths and physics a must to know or its just advisable

  • @theodoroscristou In the UK and most other places in the world we call it a commercial pilots licence. It is mainly the US which refers to it as a certificate.

  • where are you flying now?

  • Congratulations! great flying.

I have one question though, what exactly is a touch and go, and why is it usually used?

    Thanks a lot in advance

  • Good job man.

  • I noticed you're wearing epaulets during your checkride. Were you in some kind of academy?

  • @pqwilrj Not really, just a flight school that was very strict on students wearing a uniform. Jeans and tshirt were a strict no lol.

  • @alisterlyle only this thing worries me, that if their is no vaccancies, what will i do.. and wht about that huge amount i spent in this field to accomplich my dreams of becoming a commercial airline pilot.

  • only this thing worries me, that if their is no vaccancies, what eill i do.. and wht about that huge amount i spent in this field to accomplich my dreams of becoming a commercial airline pilot.

  • can a cpl holder of 200 hours of flying get a job in airlines as pilot? or need more flying hours to aply in airlines as pilot ?

  • @yutbxt22 Hey! With regards to your post, in North America with 200 flying hrs you cannot get an airline position. You have to work your way up by working for small airlines. Airlines in North America would want you to have atleast 1000hrs. After graduation from your flight school it might take you about 5 years to get an airline postion.

  • @ihaveabigtv thanks for replying. my parents want me to study in greece for bba. but im in pakistan right now, and here are some flying schools. but are too costly. they offer cpl/IR in 18 months for Pakistani 22 lakh rupees. they said, if u graduated from flying school with ur license "cpl/ir" , u can get a job in pakistan international airlines, as cadet pilot. ohnly if vaccancies for cadet pilot is onn.

otherwise you dont have any job.... unless vaccancies are open. ts worries me help me.

  • @yutbxt22 @Im not very sure about the process of becoming a pilot in Pakistan. However I'm sure other countires hire other foriegn nationals. Like you should try other countires in Asia or South America. But sometimes you need a bit of luck as well. Like any other job, if the ecnomy is good, there are endless possibilities. But at the end it all comes down to who you are. Never give up on your dreams

  • @ihaveabigtv thanks again for replying. the info you gave me helps me a lot. i went to the flying club yesterday, and they told me, even if there is jo vaccancy, u can be hierd as flight instructor. here ppl is 40 hours. and cpl is 200 hours in Pakistan. and if i go to greece , its in euros, so ican't afford that. so, that my name is in waiting list now. i hope they call me soon.

  • @yutbxt22 No problem man. Glad you found a flight schoool and i hope you get the call soon too. If you need help Ill be happy to help you. Aviation is my dream. Been a pilot is what I want to do. Im starting flight school this september so help me god :P

    Good Luck to you bro.

  • Friggin MUSIC!!!

  • How long did it last?

  • You wouldn't happen to have this without the music would you? Would have loved to hear the radio calls and how it all went, Definately some-thing i am aspiring to get into. 24yrs old started flying 4 months ago as a student (GFPT) going for PPL soon wanting to have a career in aviation hopefully in Airline but one step at a time.

Great little video, also what plane was this?

  • What aircraft was this in?

  • @ohiorc piper seminole i think

  • GOOD LUCK

  • Good Job buddy, I did the same, but on sigle engine ops, got fail

  • what would be wrong with giving "unfair" information anyhow?? everyone has the same opportunity to watch this video. anything that accelerates the learning process should be welcomed.

  • bus driving pays more guys

  • @ejuoi But who wants to drive a bus? People who become commercial pilots do it because they love it, not so they can get rich...

  • who said they wanted to get rich?? just a decent wage. piloting is not a hobby.

  • @ejuoi Flying can be a hobby, but I agree, pilots deserve far more than what they make. Hopefully someday congress will realize the dangers that the regional airline business is causing by trying to cut corners and maybe they will put in some regulations. Either way, I still pick a shitty living flying a CRJ over a good living driving a bus.

  • @drumdude46 For some reason, everybody thinks every video has to have music. I don't know why.

  • I Hope he Passed :D Good luck up There Dude!

  • bring back the sound track!

  • how come he is doing the CPL flight test in a twin?????.. this must be the states

  • In the US we have to take our commerical in each category we want to fly. This pilot may already have his commercial ticket in singles and was taking another checkride to add multiengine to his commercial ticket.

  • @RobertGary1 Are you sure? I think if you do commercial on Multi you also get a single Commercial. If you get a commercial on multi it asumes that you can fly the darn thing on one engine too. It's just sometimes people get their single ifr, single commercial and than do the multi addon. I am doing PPL, doing my multi IFR... and after was planning on taking commercial checkride in multi :)

  • @armanys2003 Not. Not at all. There PTS requirements for commercial single includes many manuevers that are not part of the multi. A single engine pilot is required to have a higher level of skill in manipulation type manuevers (like lazy 8's 8's on pylons, chandells, emergency decents, etc). A multi pilot is assumed to be flying something that isn't going to be used for high manueverability stuff.

  • Be great if you could repost with no music, just commentary. Since apparently you're making too much money off this artist's creations. Again I would like to thank the fucks art WMG for taking care of all the criminals out here.

  • what is the rotation speed in this aircraft?

  • 77 knots IAS

  • This skills test was with mr Thompson wasn't it! how comes you wasn't over weight he weighs around 285 Ibs if i remember right, i couldnt fly with full fuel and i had to use a water ballast in the back. Then again he does look alot smaller and has shorter hair in this vid

  • were u by any chance flying out of KISM?

  • Yes the Piper Seminole is a nice light twin engine aircraft to fly.

  • wer di u learn ur CPL & hw mch did it cost?

  • Off we go into the wild blue yonder

    Climbing high into the sun.

  • Here they come.....

  • 1st off congrats!

2ndly, what CPL maneuvers did you have to perform cos i didnt see any in the video?

  • Thats a great video, congrats to the pilot. Im already waiting for my turn on CPL IR

  • thats no SIMULATED engine failure, the props stopped...that is an engine thats been shut down! theres no simulated anything about that. our SOP's require each to be turning all the time, cant shutone down, its not allowed for safety reasons, and also coz a very senior flight instructor and an upgrade CFI killed themselves when they couldnt get it running again, then came in slow for an approach and Vmc'd. so thats also why. but good job on the ticket. i hope to get mine soon.cheers, keep em flyin

  • you DO have to do an actual engine shutdown and recovery for your checkride. where I work, we only shut down an engine for real twice during your multiengine commerical training- once with your instructor (typically just prior to checkride), and once on your checkride. the other 50 or 100 or more times you "lose an engine" during training is accomplished when your instructor pulls one throttle back to idle or zero thrust (for ZT we use 10-12" of manifold in our seminole). fun stuff!

  • I wonder if that is a relatively new regulation...I did an actual shut down during training, for the experience, but did not do one for my ME, ATP or my MEI checkride. I haven't instructed in years, so I'm a little out of the loop.

  • what aiport do you land at?

  • Hey Alister, Paul from OBA here. I got a surprise when I say your name as the poster, that's so cool. Well done mate a true professional.

  • Cheers bud appreciate the comment. How are the ATPL's going?

  • congrats !

  • were you study?

  • great man so did you get it??!!

  • 'License exam'

lol that sounds so funny to me.

  • Lol yea. I wrote it that way because most people probably wouldn't understand what a skills test or checkride was.

  • oh good idea i guess

  • cogratulation!

you are a really good pilot

    how much is the career?

  • Guys, I'm 54 years old and I got my ppl at age 18. I can tell you that the greatest regret of my life was not continuing my flyng education. And it was precisely because I was making a lot of money then. But had I continued my studies and became a professional pilot, my life would had been so much richer. All of you worrying about the $ part of it, just do it as you can, but achieve your goal or you will spend the rest of your life doing something you hate, until it is time to die. Congrat Alter

  • I'm sorry to hear that. If it's any consolation you can still work as a flight instructor.

  • good advice...im 20 and had just decided to pursue an aviation career rather than real estate (already in real estate now and im over it big time), i know if i dont then ill regret it for ever. By the way dont worry, your only 54..u still have time to fly as much as u want...cheers.

  • What a lovely comment!!!!!!

  • HEY WAIT A MINUTE i'm also 54 and recently here one guy said to me i'm over the time to become a pilot (I'm already a private pilot 30 years, we meant commercial) and that it woul be a waste of my time to try.

by the way, it is a shame this video has such horrendous music. this is the type of video where we want to absorb every word spoken; instead, you can't hardly stand it for a minute or two. Crazy!

  • Depends on what form of commercial aviation, doesn't it? I don't think you have much chance at 54 to get to fly airliners, but, especially with 30 years of experience in GA, you could become a flight instructor.

At the moment I'm 26 and studying psychology. But I have a PPL, and think about following your advice not to worry too much about the $ (Euro's in my case) but about my happiness, and get my papers to become a flight instructor, after I finished my study

  • @malanga13 Well said.

  • @malanga13 Hey There! Im sorry to hear that but I'm 18 and Im stuyding to be a pilot. And what made me even more confident is just by reading what you said. Your encourgament....alot of people think being a pilot is a real shit job. BUt really its just alot of hard work and a long process. For some reason I find your comment motivating. Thanks alot:) Cheers!

  • yeah well how the hell can you spin/stall if your not in the utility with a passenger in the back???

  • You don't spin seminoles and you don't need to be in the utility category for stalls.

  • Congratulations Alister! Where are you flying now? I'm just about to start the ATPLs in Waterford Ireland but sh****ng it with all this financial stuff going on.

After how many hours do people go solo? And how many do they typically have before qualyfying?

    Congrats again!

  • This is the career path I want to follow...but how hard hitting on the financial side is it?

  • Hey man!! Whats the name of the songs on video?

thanks. I like the song and of course the video.

  • Students.. your flight training is important and the foundation of it is critical.Training is expensive..so make the right choice.

I advise you to not let him be your instructor.

  • All my students have passed first time. Stop trying to talk about flight training as if you're an expert. May I also suggest you get laid at some point in your life!

  • i cane give u a advise go the hell and get of this profile.

  • A WARNING TO ALL FLYOBA STUDENT Present & Future!!!

The guy in this video is a flight instructor at OBA. Be warned... His flight training at another flight school at Kissimmee airport, was far from good and I find it amazing that he is now instructing!

His training record,,I was training with him at the same time,so I know!!

JAA CPL: 3 attempts (2 outright fails)

FAA IR : 3 attempts (2 outright fails)

  • Jeez you really are full of shit Adam. I passed my JAA CPL after my second attempt and my FAA IR first time. Why can't you just get on with people instead of trying to disguise your name on the internet and making up a load of crap? Why do you think everyone calls you Adam Screwover?

  • I forget is the IR suppose to be 3 or 4 fails? Lol you really come up with some bullshit Adam!

  • i think u are saying all this because u was tho foolish to get it your self you need to study your self. u dont know how to fly a airplane. mind your own business

  • Hello allister! How are you??? Its been a while. Nearly 30000 people have watch you pass your CPL on the 3rd attempt..congrats! When will you post the FAA IR checkride?? You took that how many time's again?? 4 time's me think!

  • Hello Adam I am fine. I passed my FAA IR first time and I like everyone else on my course passed my JAA CPL second time. Hows things with you, found a job as a pilot yet? Keep dreaming Adam, there isn't a single Airline or Flight School that would give a job to a pathetic, malicious little scrote like yourself!

  • First of all i think u should shut up.

Alister did a god job and he passed his test and thats it, i think u should mind your own business and if you are so jaloux then go to hell okay. Alister great job dont listen to this foll.

  • what is the name of the song? Congrats

  • Thx. The first one's Weezer and the second on is Muse. I forget the titles though.

  • nice video but,no music on check rides!

  • lol

  • very beutifull video really nice!!!!

hope you are enjoing flying around. hope to start on the pilot license in about a year.

  • Yea it's a good career, wish you all the best bud.

  • What a wonderful video!!! I love it!! Actually I'm going to start learning to fly!! Yeah!! congratulations man!!

  • Thx

  • Very Good Video!U must be on top of the world, after that experience!Wish u all the Best!

  • Yea was good to finally get it over and done with. Had lots of financial trouble throughout my CPL and had to take a break for a few months before I could complete it!

  • why did you do you commercial in a multi???

  • Hes getting his Commercial Multi rating

  • Good video, the back ground music was distracting. Better with ATC and pilot chatter.

  • Keep meaning to post a version without the music, will def do that at some point.

  • cool

  • Wow, someday I'll be there bud. Congrats.

  • in fact that must of been a jaa cpl that really looks like paul thompson

  • haha who was ur examiner? i see OFT in the background well its kaz aviation now..was this faa cpl or jaa ?

  • It would have been nice to hear the conversation between pilot and check pilot instead of that very poor, obviously a "Friday night jammin' in the garage" band and the vocalist wannabe. There's a time and place for everything; lose the music and you'll get more viewers.

  • u do realize that it is a well known band....

  • Nah, 30 000 viewers will suffice ; )

  • For what is the touch and go??? Is for emergency?? I really don't know. Nice landings!!!!!!

  • simulated engine failure? i think you've failed it for real!

  • flip on the telllieee.! Wrestle with JIMMMIIIEEE.!!!

  • Congratulations! I for myself should begin training for a PPL in september. Any recommandations are welcome!

BTW, what are you doing now, since a year passed? Are you a flight instructor, or do you fly for an airline?

At any rate, best of luck in your career, hope I'll join you in the skies sometime soon!

  • I hate those view limiting devices!

  • nice flying there, you did everything just perfect =)

  • Why thankyou

  • Thx for the comment bud. It's actually a PA44Seminole but very similar to a Duchess. Where are you going to take your CPL?

  • music is way too loud and erelvantly annoying wanted to hear what they were saying!?

  • And so I suppose the Christmas sing a long isn't annoying then?

  • I agree but that video was uploaded for a friend not for me.

  • The music on my video is there mainly for the mainsteam. I think it's great that aviation enthusiasts come and watch my video however most people wouldn't be interested in what we were saying. If I ever get time I will post an unedited version.

  • wow...i got grilled for two hours, but passed then passed the flights...then got drunk as fuck..see u in the skies, officially gettin paid WOO!

  • Nobody cares.

  • hahaha, your pathetic

  • No not really, nobody cares about you getting drunk after your imaginary CPL test.

  • wasnt really imaginary. pretty sure it was real. i bet you dont even have a license you faggot.

  • oh you bet do you. and you got that info from where?

  • your making dumb comments

  • im up for my ride today....should be joyful

  • Good luck bud. I'm guessing by the time I've written this you've already passed and recovering from a hangover lol?

  • super weak music bro....

  • Thank you for the comment. By the word "thank" I actually mean "fuck" ; )

  • awesome music bro....

  • Thx, you have good taste.

  • so you have to be 21 before you can get a job at an airline.

i'll be 17 when i finish school, assuming i get my commercial licence in1 year what will i do for the other 2 years. Do u have to be 21 years old to be a CFI

  • Ok well first of all you only have to be 18 to get hired because you cant get your CPL till your 18 alos the thing you are getting copnfused wiht is that you can be a captain until you are 23 then you can get a ATP Cert then you can be a captain. Also you dont have to be 21 to be a CFI 18

  • sick video

  • Part 61 or 141 Checkride ?

And is that out of LAL ?

  • hey just curious.... u trained for JAA cos u want to fly in from europe yeah.?? so did u find it hard to get job after qualifying.. if you dont mind me asking what exactly are you working at now... im researching schools at moment to go from literally one hours experience to commercial pilot(frozen ATPL) looking at flight safety in florida, datyona beach I think. any advice.? tryin to work out expected starting salary after qualifying etc. Im from Ireland.. cheers. ps cool video

  • what sould the grade 9 students study if they want to become commercial pilot? should they study, academic or applied courses? and what if they have colour blind?

  • can people become a private pilot or commercial pilot if they wear glasses?

  • Yes you can. It's only the military that require pilots to have 20/20 vision.

  • wow..i envy you. you actually have my dreams within your grasp.congratulations.you must be a regional pilot now

  • Leave away the awful music please!

  • I had a perfect 5 star rating for that video. I don't suppose you had anything to do with the sudden decrease?

  • As a pilot I am more interested in the cockpit communication. The music does not help.

Rating: I did not vote. But even if I did: Is it not up to me? Am I obliged to vote 5 stars for you??? Besides, 12 ratings mean nothing...

  • This video is meant for everyone, not just a select few who understand what the communications mean. So far you're the only one who's had a problem with the music. If you don't like it, don't watch it. No one's forcing you to do so.

  • Save up loads of money and find a half decent flying school. Other than that you can always take out a loan if you don't mind getting into debt.

  • how much money is needed?

  • If you take the first part, the "PPL", in the USA or Canada it is around £5000. The rest of the training up to the instructor rating is approxiamately £20 000. From there on out though you would be paid to train other people and build your hours at the same time. Once you've got enough experience you can then apply to some airlines.

  • i dont want to be an airline pilot, i just want to own a small private plane, so do i still have to pay the £20, 000 or just the £5000 for the private training?

  • Yea £5000 should suffice if you want to fly a light single engine aircraft with non paying passengers in good vis. There are schools in Florida which conduct European license PPLs if you want to make a holiday out of your training. Whatever you do though stay away from OFT, they will rape you clean of your finances and treat you like a bitch. So to speak.

  • lol ok, thanks for your help :)

  • once you get your PPL and start to build your way to CPL, is there any other way to build your hours aside from paying for a CPL course? if you only have a PPL can you get a CFI course and get paid for it till you get the minimum requirement for a CPL? i don't think i can afford my way to CPL :(

  • Heya, I'm guessing you fly in the US? If so you will need both a CPL and IR before you become a CFI. An option that may help you build your hours for free would be to work for a skydiving club as a pilot. To the best of my knowledge in the US you only need a PPL for that. Good luck with it all,

    Alister

  • wow didn't know that, thanks for the great info, i just got my PPL, and was looking for a job like that to get my needed hours for the CPL. Thanks a lot bud. Happy landings (:

  • You have to have a commercial license to legally fly skydivers for a commercial operation, unless you can find a non-profit skydiving club (rare these days) that will let you fly for them, even if the commercial operation doesn't pay you in dollars.

  • That's a shame. In the UK you can fly skydivers with a PPL regardless of whether the club makes a profit. If you obtain the appropriate rating you can tow gliders with a PPL aswell.

  • have you found any work?, did you go to college?

  • did you do your commercial exam on a multi engine??

  • Yea I combined my CPL and MEP checkride at the same time.

  • Great great Video

  • What school is this? Embry Riddle? ATP? Flight Safety? I am still considering what school I should go to. I wanna study something else other than being a pilot and then get my licenses, at 17 I already got my PPL. Where you nervous? I was nervous as hell with my checkride.

  • The school I went to was OFT in Florida. As a JAA student I didn't have too much choice of training venues in the USA, you on the other hand as an FAA student do. I recommend you go to a reputable school rather than OFT.
