These types of fires almost never ever happen and so they aren't worth mentioning. Whenever you are using any belt sanders,you just need to remember to not have any flammable items around the sander and you should be just fine. Another thing is this is the absolute worse way to make a custom blade. Nobody with any credibility makes blades this way. I don't like this sander at all unless it has a jig attached or a level guide attached. You are better off using a baldor 2" belt, better control.
