  • Nice job. Not perfect but still better than I could have done.

  • Looks like a 3D photo yea?

  • хорошо постарался)))

  • мдааа....

  • nice work buddy.

  • check mines out /watch?v=Rl4YtRT2Tk0

  • Trying to be completely constructive: First, it looks cool- that is, the overall color correction/lighting is neat. What kills this for me is the trees aren't blowing, so I know it's a pic, also the clouds look like a pic moving from right to left. No dynamics in it. The camera shake in this instance doesn't add to it. A live video plate with this overtop would look much better! Not trying to dig, just offer some constructive criticism. Overall I thought it looked really cool.

  • were you download this ufo from ?

  • but man , i like the sky

  • Hi friend! It's a good work, but the shot is not photorealistic. But you sure are on your way. Here's what you should do to improve your comp:

1- Your camera jittering is ruining the shot. The idea is great, but you must NOT animate the z axis movement (or scale your 2D comp). Nobody holding a camera will move back and forth. Instead "wiggle" your comp's x/y position and maybe rotation.

2- Your clouds look cg. Use a photo that shows clouds with better details.

  • @TiCasque100 3- I can see that you placed your layers in 3D (because of the camera z movement...). It's a good idea but the parallax is too exagerated. Look at actual shaky footages: the camera is in a fixed z position and all the layers move in a same motion, no parallax effect. You will get a parallax if the cam moves back/forth over a long period or very fast.

4- You need to apply grain to your final comp if you want to simulate video camera.

  • @TiCasque100 5- It's a better approach (IMHO) to insert CG into real footage, motion tracked with Moccha for example, than to create the whole sequence with layers (for video I mean, a photo does not show any difference). You can match the grain of the original footage if you have the tools, and also apply a tint/color grading to your resulting comp to match the different layers. Honnestly if you would remove your z jittering you would have a very believable shot. :)

  • Must have taken a long time to do. Very nice :)

  • Tha camera shake and zoom wasnt very convincing I have to say.

  • this is artually really good! I love it. Stop hating, could you animate this??

  • WTF is this bull shit?

  • @jairusherring1 WTF are you talking about? it is animated... no shit there isnt a ufo above central park...

  • @elliottower123 lol, maybe he's just saying it coulda been done better somehow. great stuff tho man!

  • @subtenk0 yeah. If I was actually talking to him Id hear him stress "WHAT THE FUCK? Is this bullshit??" or "what the fuck is THIS BULL SHIT?"

Silly youtube comments! so confusing. Well, at lest when people dont use periods when supposed to i could never make this could you probably not what the hell is this BS.

RUN ON SENTENCE - I learned at least that in school! And I'll probably relearn that next year in 8th grade... :(

  • @elliottower123 duh!

  • nice try, but what wouldve been better is if you fixed the lighting. anyways besides that i liked it.

  • dirty mothership +dirty aliens nothing good abt alien nd ufo only the action is

  • nice video

  • What is the music called?

  • would look good in some sort of cartoon

  • Not bad at all...keep up the good work....really nice....love it.

check my vid ..hope u like mine xD as much as i liked this

    check mi district 9 video

  • nice

    check mi district 9 video

  • May be it's just a reflection, not the sun. Anyway it seems like if the real sun is on the oposite side and slightly to the right. But the ship is lighted like the the sun shines accurately from the right. As if the sun just hangs in the air near the ship

  • @thfFromRussia Okay I see what you mean, I was hoping it looked more like the sun reflecting off the edge of the ship. Looking at the video now I realise I should have taken the clouds into consideration. I should have lowered the reflection as the clouds blocked the sun.

  • bad lighting

  • @thfFromRussia Anything constructive to say or are you just gonna throw down some criticism?

  • @CLBray Well, seems like lighting angle of the ship is different with angle of the trees. we see more part of ship lighted than should. that is the sun behind the ship on the right as i can see... so how could be lighted the nearest edge? moreover it is hidden with the bulkhead

  • I think you know what people think of this.

  • Freshly introduced Unidentified flying object Written documents will definitely be found ufosecretXnet (replace X with . ) . Its certainly definitely worth it, trust me people. They really are off the wall! Presented feb. twelth, of 2010!

  • bro how did u go this? like im just new to AE u can come on my page and see my 1st video and see what i picked up, but i need help with this effect

  • Nice! I've been thinking about doing this since I saw the movie...can you explain or make a tutorial on how to blend it with the color correcting and the sun glare and all? (Without Photoshop)

  • @YRQRM0 In After Effects you add colour correction using adjustment layers and adding effects to it such as hue & saturation, Levels, Curves. After doing so I also added a shine effect to give it that extra glow. Sorry if this reply doesn't make much sense I'm really tired. Let me know if you didn't understand and I'll explain further.

  • @CLBray Thanks....although I don't really understand what you used shine on...I'm guessing that sun isn't really setting like that and you kinda just put it there yourself? I was wondering how you might do it if you just filmed the sunset in the distance...and how you would blend in the light and all with the ship like that.

  • the zooming looks strange.

  • Good job. Though I know a little about expressions and matte painting, I stated working with After Effects around 5 months ago... so i'm new to it. But from my view, it's amazing. *Subscribe*

  • How do you do this? is there any kind of tutorial? masking etc?

  • Very nice, the only problem for me is that camera movement looks slightly fake.

  • @reezlaw yep should do. I threw in a quick expression to automate the camera jerk. I was new to ae expressions so it's sketchy.

  • @CLBray it looks cool nonetheless.

  • @reezlaw thank you I appreciate that.

  • Well done, love the sun drenched look.

  • cudos, good dusk lighting.

  • very nice. Really liked the color

  • Thank you :D

  • Thanks for the link! :D

  • Any time ;)

  • now I really like it it's better than mine i'd say

  • Have you added any colour correction? Mine looked similar to yours until I added some colour correction.

  • Very little actually, more like a couple subtle tints than anything, and a little brightness and contrast work but thats it

  • The only reason I said that was because the ship doesn't particularly match the lighting within your shot. Maybe give that a try, and add some creepy sound for effect.

  • yeah exactly it doesn't quite fit true
