  • And now... if only the music could save the world

  • it would be awesome combining BOND and David together for a tune!

  • lool bin so geil

  • good but i still prefer kennedy

  • @purpleblue118 i prefer kennedy too. But theFIRST violin player who was really outstanding as a classic renegade was JERRY GOODMAN !!

  • 18 people don't know the difference between like and dislike

  • One of my favorite songs ~ This is so Grand!!

  • BRAVO !!!!!!!!!

  • so ich wiege 300 kilo

  • BRAVO!

  • SIMPLEMENTE...¡¡ DIVINO !!!

  • how can u dislike this...

  • His Stradivarius has such a nice sound.

  • 1:15 thumbus!

  • 0:00 to 3:31 is my favorite part!!!!!! :D

  • Ran into this by accident and sat mesmerized until the end. It's wonderful. It makes me giggle when I see his earphones though. I think he's like listening to the football game or something. ha! Thanks for posting this.

  • wouah! c'est magnifique!

  • is he married???? just askin O__o

  • One a my favorite classical pieces. David plays it (as usual) extraordinarily.

  • one of my favorite songs : )

  • only video i don't like from david, sounds great but david plays it too hyper-ly, winter is supposed to be sad and slow and quiet :S

  • Totally out of the subject, ridiculous, poor Vivaldi.

  • He's masturbating the violin...

Thats my favorite of four seasons.

  • The Best of The Best !!!

  • This the part i prefer in the 4 seasons.. Moreover, David Garrett is a genius... Thank you for this beautiful video..

  • What movement is this?

  • @armolive8 First movement - Winter (Vivaldi)

  • I play it faster

  • @zuckerschnulze and he can probably play it faster than mostly anyone. as expected from the guy who holds violin world speed record.

  • @zuckerschnulze you do realize the orchestra has to keep up with him right? its not only about speed lol

  • Perfectp!♥

  • once again, perfect except for the rhythm. well done anyways =) he's great!

  • @aadf91

He's gorgeous. I wouldn't say rhythm was the issue, rather tempo: on occasion I feel he rushes?

  • @C1aireGreen yes, I think so. and yes, it is the tempo. forgive my terminology =)

  • Beautiful! Love Vivaldi and David Garrett's interpretation of his work.

    Kendall Kessler

  • Wow... He actually did this pretty well o.o

  • I`m in love....

  • OMFG! I see GOD playing a VIVALDI melody!

  • .....vilvaldi.....un régal....!!!!!!

  • He's rushing so bad, can't even stay in one spot. I LOVE soloists trying to play with an orchestra, especially David Garrett, the world's fastest violin being controlled by a conductor, bah! I think not.

    :D

  • @Vzamzar thought the same he should play it without conductor like nigel kennedy that would be great but that´s very slow :P

  • @Vzamzar - Did you happen to catch David at the Verbier Festival? A snippet is available on You Tube. He played under Gábor Takács-Nagy. I watched the "live" televised version several times. Absolutely stunning!

  • @peacenikkie I watched David at Verbier Festival. Really great, no words to comment!!!

  • @Vzamzar I think he is not rushing but orchestra slow. I really do not like the conductor...

  • @Vzamzar I don't get your commentary: you love soloists TRYING to play with on orchestra, but without conductor?

  • its hard to think hes been playing for so many years...

  • This does sound good, however, he is speeding in the solos. You can hear that after a few measures he is no longer with the rest of the orchestra. They end up playing catchup. No, this is not because of the mic as you can see that the bows do not match.

  • @maxthemadcat - I did not notice that, max. He, after all, is playing MANY MORE bow strokes as the orchestra and has the more difficult part, as soloist.

  • Sinceramente preferisco estate...di David Garrett

  • wonder if the cellist is finding it hard to concentrate at 1:45 , I know I would :P

  • @Laitanie lol i see your point

  • best musician's song, played by sexiest musician alive. COULD IT GET ANY BETTER?

  • @thevampanezelord iain't gay... even though i liked this....

  • @thevampanezelord With Chuck Norris on stage approving it xD

  • I love Vivaldi!

  • beautiful!!!

  • he plays with so much passion/heart- amazing vibrant talent! I also love when he plays this with his crossover piece with U2! Incredible

  • BRAVISIMO; EXCEPCIONAL

  • I love this song. It is my favourite of all times ^^

I didn't know David Garret and I've really loved the way he plays it.

    Absolutely fantastic interpretation.

  • shitty version.

  • 10 ppl are upset becouse theres now words in this "song"

  • it gonna take a lot of crap just to play this song =.=

  • love the for seasons and this is definitly the best peace of the Recording... great interpretation

  • Oh my god start playing your own music and do not go there!!!!!!

  • Saw him in concert this week. Flew out of my vacation from St. Croix and would do it every time. He was so worth it. AMAZING. I wanted to take him back too, lol

  • awful

  • I love him!! :*

  • AWFUL. Pour, very pour version, nothing musical and intelligent, PAINFUL.

  • @pi6527

I agree. Poor interpretation of the piece in general.

  • I love David Garret's music!

I also love how everyone in his audience dresses up to go to his concert, and he's just like "BAM!" in jeans and a t-shirt. :D

He's the Eric Whitacre of orchestral music. Very chic, popular, and damn amazing! He takes classical and contemporary music to an all new level. Extremely inspirational. :)

  • could he please stop walking around while playing? show-off!

  • @Kalamachuca please! ur just jealous. this is how violinists perform, would you rather he just stand there with a blank expression on his face, doing nothing but moving his arm? i've been playing violin for a long time and btw its good technique to move around. it takes some serious skill to be able to do that anyway, playing the way he does. if it irritates u then dont spoil the video for the rest of us.

dave garret it AMAZING!!!!! im luck enough to have seen him in concert twice :D <3 <3

  • in love...Pinchas better watch out!

  • EXCELSO!

  • He plays the violin like an archangel! Fantastic!

  • @ivog2001 he is one

  • A bright musician, great performance !

  • Einfach nur genial...

  • I love this song the most! Vivaldi´s Winter is so beautiful and with David Garrett it´s perfect!

  • Einfach perfekt, Vivaldi rocks and David, too!!!! Awesome

  • That stradivarius really carries him. Otherwise....

  • @TheBeethovenlove is it the stradivarius? He has a violin of Giovanni Battista Guadagni too!

  • He seems completely out of sync with the orchestra at 1:10-1:15 min. Is that just me or do you notice that, too???

Don´t get me wrong: I am a fan. I really love his music.

  • @TriesPizza maybe the quality of cam do that thing... maybe... but i notice too

  • @TriesPizza

    no, he's def not!

  • wow, awsome, I also like how Janine Jansen plays the same piece.. she plays the same faster.. But I like this too..

  • inkreible un buen violinista

  • Magnificent piece of music and magnificently played by a master!!!

  • sehr sehr sehr sehr gut gespielt.........

  • Sehr schlecht umgesetzt ...

  • genial!!! me encanta!

  • Beautiful- he makes my heart sing

  • I think Vivaldi would definetely approve!!! Awesome, love it!

  • Wunderbar!!! ~0;-D

  • magnifique <3

  • amazing!! i could listen to him all day!

  • Fantastic! Another kind of "Winter" from Eugene Park - a gifted unique Korean violinist from Juiliard, they both just are unbelievable ... no limit

  • hmmm he plays it perfect.... but I like the version from Nigel Kennedy much more...

  • I've always loved Vivaldi's Four Seasons--But Garrett makes them even 'better' in every respect...

  • wow!

  • @PleaseTalkEnglish true!!! true. but, please talk ANY LANGUAGE UNDER THE SUN.

  • Es fabuloso toco muy bien.

  • the fact he plays one of my favourite pieces so awesomely makes him even sexier :D

  • Garrett is an attractive violinist, in some ways a new Nigel Kennedy re the edge and fashion he brings to the table. A strong, solid technique, great training, a superb instrument. However, there is also sloppiness here (and elsewhere), both in rhythm and intonation, and showmanship perhaps wins out - it is no match for the great performances of this incredibly well-known piece, and does not reach the musical novelty of insight Kennedy, with his edge, brought to this piece. Still good, though.

  • @lagiostra1...I saw that you mentioned this on another Garrett video playing the same number. I'm no expert on violin playing but his version sounds phenomenol to me! What I think David brings to his playing is an emotional component that is not ofter seen in other violinists! He's incredibly open and is a very romantic musician similar to the violin players of the past.. "Winter" is so stirring that, I believe, it takes someone like David to interpret the FEELiNG of the song. He MOVEs me!

  • @thespiangirl1 Your lack of expertise in violin playing kind of does betray your comment. While I can't really say much about your comment ("emotional component" after all is often a really subjective matter), I don't see why you can judge it from Winter...Winter is more of a lesson in virtuosity, showmanship, and at the most stylishness rather than feeling...even in the second movement...There are TONS of other violin works which require much much more emotion than this...

  • Classical break :3

  • i like this song, but i would prefer Vivaldi summer over this. STILL wonderful!!

  • AMAZING!! i love david garrett!!

  • thats more than perfekt i think.. david garrett is one of honestly.. not many violin players, i really look up to.

(sorry my english is horrible.. i am german)

    THIS is music

  • I like summer better. but this one is still pretty awsome! :) thanks to whoever put it up! ;)

  • das is zum kotzen ehrlich!!!!! ne vivaldi verarsche!!!

  • It's wonderful.

  • @Sommerwind2 its horrible!!!

  • love it

  • Sorry - Good marketing but no Perlman, Oistrakh or Menuhin. Less show more play will bring him to this performance.

  • I know I might get a thumbs-down for this, but something seems off about his rhythm... or maybe it's just me? Feh.

  • its just you :/

  • its just the way he played it...they weren't off ..

  • no you're right. He's constantly slightly ahead of the orchestra which is really annoying

  • @MissCartoonist

I think you´re right, but just in the beginning, afterwards it is as usual.

Although I´m a big David Garrett fan and play the Violin myself, I must say that it´s a little bit hard to understand how he can be out of rhythm.

But the "Winter" is my favourit piece of the "Four seasons", and I love to her it everytime, espacially played by David.

  • @Sabsemade Yeah now that I look back at this vid, he seems OK for most of it.

  • @MissCartoonist

Yesterday I bought the DVD, where he also playes it and it sounds nearly the same, so I think now no one is out of time.

  • es lo maximo! lo amo

  • Ich liebe deine musik !!!

  • ich liebe den teil ab 3:03...einfach göttlich

  • Bravo!

  • I wanna listen again. I like this.

  • theres a part that almost sound like a scary movie sound track where the murderer is stabbing with his knife

  • i guess u mean "Psycho" ;-)

  • This is my favorite out of all Vivaldi!

  • I think Vivaldi would most definetely approve! Awesome.

  • @1986ASura then watch carmignola's version

  • @1986ASura What about Summer.

  • i want his stradivarius

  • omg einfach nur schön!
