I've always wondered how they've been able to afford cobbling together all their projects, the films and the costumes and the customized instruments and stage shows. The Cryptic Corporation has surely never been out of the red in the past 35 years.
The Rio folks wouldn't allow me take my camera inside the theater or I would have had spectacular coverage of this show. Glad you were able to sneak this video. That was truly a memorable event.
How weird to be watching a Bunny Boy live performance quite a while after experiencing it in Stockholm! Such an once-in-a-lifetime thing that was to me, I couldn't have asked for more to do with it! Excpet the eyeballs, but that's just irrational, seeing these costumes ARE splendid enough. I wasn't at all sure who were the players, but I had been considering that the guitarist probably was Nolan Cook, and someone like Carla Fabrizio quite likely involved too- got to the conclusion by counting :)
I am looking for residents videos on youtube that the residents have not yet recorded. So far I have resorded 3. Benny the bouncing bump (the icky flix version), constantanople (icky flix), and this video (wich i saw live.)
I saw them in Chicago last night...I was sick and I took some cold medicine before I went to the show...oh jesus, the medicine head feeling made the show like twenty times more amazing than the godliness it already was!
hah! hey, i was there, too... i altered my consciousness by not sleeping the night before.... it definitely worked out rather nicely. it made the whole thing feel like a hilarious nightmare... pretty great.
i'm sooo excited to see them in chicago tomorrow... not bad, only a 90 mile drive... but, i'm dragging a friend along 'cuz i didn't want to go alone. i really hope he digs it...
btw, did anyone else catch the residents reference in the venture brother's that was on adult swim last night? not sure which episode it was, but it shocked the shit outta me...
i had stopped listening to the Residents around the time of the Mole trilogy. At the time it seemed like they had kind of lost their direction. I recently rekindled my interest and did some backtracking to see what I ha dmissed. WHOA! Really sorry I missed CUBE E what a masterpiece of art and theatre! Sorry I missed Wormwood but glad I caught BunnyBoy. Saw the Philly show and I've been obsessed ever since. Homer Flynn is my new favorite artist. Sorry, Trey.
I agree. I really wish that I had even been aware of CUBE-E but had fallen out of the loop by then. I moved from the San Francisco Bay Area to more remote places sorta' outside of the Resident's renown. It wasn't until I "reentered" the World in 2002 that I could start to catch up with my wife. She's a new fan.
...just saw them in Foxborough last night, AMAZING....well worth the 90 miles from Vernon, CT...and $30..it was in a shopping mall next to a movie theatre! Only around 400 people there, the floor had maybe 250, we got there late and still walked up to dead center 3 ppl in front of us....the bartender said the music was "different" from what they usually have there..HANSON'll be there for 2 nights soon..guitar Resident rippin Fripp sounding leads, key Res on left side APPEARED to sing female vocs
There is a female Resident on the tour but she's not a guarded secret, just in costume. Carla Fabrizio. She's also been on many of the albums and the tours going back a few years but, not in the same capacity as Molly Harvey was. The Guitar playing resident is Nolan Cook, whom I saw after the show in Philly but didn't recognize until it was too late to say something or wave.
That's odd. The Residents banned Audio, Photo, or Video at the D.C. show I just got back from. It wasn't the venue, either, because I know 9:30 has no problem with recording devices.
"Wish I could have recorded more, but the security made me put it away. I have another one without much video from the end of the show, maybe Ill post it just for the audio."
This is how it was supposed to be in Philly also but, as you can see; it wasn't impossible. They also let people in with cameras and let them take photos of the stage before/after the show and during intermission. They patted people down before they let them in the door - We thought it may be for weapons and/or cameras but, I suspect it was for mainly for outside booze since they sold alcohol inside. Just a guess.
Just gonna throw this out there, probably useless. But if anyone who loves this video is going to see the Residents in another venue, maybe we can work out a deal to buy me the bunny boy suppliment disk? They didnt have the new bunny boy CD available in Santa Cruz, the manufacturer was late... sucks.. Id gladly pay someone the cost + shipping + maybe a little something extra if they could possibly get an extra copy of the Bunny Boy "postcards from patmos" CD. Its a tour only CD not sold at ralph
If no one works out the deal, just stay alert on eBay. The ones on there now are pricey but then, the disk was $15 for some of us, and according to rumor, free in NYC. Eventually, there will be less interest for the CD and you can get a good deal.
So glad I was there. Just magical. 8th row in the center. I got in line around 5 pm. All three of the lights had shined on me. During the first act I had these annoying drunk women with flahing bunny ears next to me, & tried to dancing to the music as if they were in a club. I'm glad my friends hijacked their seats during intermission. I'm wearing the Bunny Boy Tour T-Shirt right now as I type this. I'm also glad that I can say this was my last Rez show, & not Demons Dance Alone. 10-4-08
The audience looks like Moles!!!!!!

Remember that crap about a dozen or so years ago regarding Pink Floyd and Publius Enigma?
It was only recently I wondered if anyone tried linking them to The Residents. After all, their PULSE album had giant eyeballs on the cover.
I'm sure someone must have tried to place Gilmour and Mason as Residents collaborators
XD

if the residents turned out to be pink floyd i'd fucking murder myself
not that i have to worry about that anyways

I read on wiki that Homer Flynn came out without a costume on for this show, I don't know how true that is, considering I can't find it anywhere
