Thanks for your interesting respond but wouldn't Chirst be the last name and the name that should be taken in marriage. That is to say you take the last name not first name is the name marriage. That’s what I always heard. Or am I missing something? Thanks.

I am not here to debate only to point out a fact. While I identify myself with the name of Jesus and am in no way opposed to using his name properly you must understand that saying the name Jesus does not necessary mean it is done in his name. Read Act 19:13-16 also read Mat 24:5 then read Mat 7:21-23. As for the trinity I no of no Trinitarian that believes in 3 Gods All that know believe in one God just that he is manifest to fallen man in 3 persons. you cannot honestly lump it al together.

To do something in the name of Jesus does not mean that you have to say the name Jesus. It means to do it in his, or under his authority. In other words act like Jesus would act obey what Jesus said and do what Jesus would do. To many people get hung up on the Name not understanding what in the name of Jesus means.

@neutrodyne while it certainly means " to do in his, or under his authority" it does not negate the fact that the name was literally invoked BECAUSE of this authority.

Acts 3:6 Then Peter SAID, "Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk."

Acts 16:18 .. Finally Paul became so annoyed that he turned around and SAID to the spirit, “In the name of Jesus Christ I command you to come out of her!”...

At that moment the spirit left her.You are correct about the authority of Jesus, and it is for THIS REASON that the name has power when INVOKED. That is why we can end our prayers and requests " In Jesus name" and why sins are remitted in "Jesus name". I am sure the early church CALLED out His name when baptizing. @neutrodyne I'm glad you liked the sound of it, if indeed you did. The statement " the bride takes the name of the husband" was not a scriptural reference. But a poetic thought based on GEN 5:2 / 2 Cor 11:2 see also Eph 5:22-33/ REV 21:2

Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called THEIR name ADAM, in the day when they were created.

Eve took on the name of her husband adam, the bride takes on the name of her husband in covenant baptism, JESUS.

How can you worship 3 gods? How can two "pastors" study the the same exact Bible and come up with two different concepts of who GOD is? There should be no debate between two christians. Their intentions were to expose truth, but they only caused confusion. The competition that took place, was in arrogance, not the word of GOD!

Sorry guys Gino lost this debate. I feel he lost on both fronts! The New Testament clearly teaches God is separated as three attributes, names, or personalities. Gino Jennings goes out of his way to prove otherwise. As Pastor Young pointed out too the word 'Elohim' is plural and is first found in Genesis. That plural word was a mystery revealing that God is Father (Creator), Son (First perfect creation), and Holy Spirit (Active force on Earth). All three make up GOD, EL, and or Yah.

@antoinelamond Not true, GOD is not 3 persons but one person. The history of the trinity is an attempt to reconcile how God the Father is God while also maintaining the diety of Jesus. I don't believe we have to resort to a trinity to explain how this is so. The trinity is not ancient enough for me to adopt as true ( it doesn't take a scholarly debate to prove Abraham,Moses, nor the prophets knew of a trinity, this is well known in the law, it can historically be traced as a developed doctrine.

The doctrine of the trinity is not ANCIENT enough for me to adopt as sound doctrine ( It doesn't take a scholarly debate to establish that neither Abraham nor Moses knew of a trinity- evidenced in that they handed down no tradition or knowledge of a tri-part GOD to the followers of the law). Further the developement of this doctrine can be traced in history ( this can be researched) and was not developed to its current form until 400's ad

He can't answer why in the Tanach did they allow remarriage and divorce yet Apostle Paul didn't. That's a contradiction. I would win on so many subjects but that one would be so easy!
