One of the coolest things I've ever heard about was a few years ago when a radiostation here in Sweden spoke about "the new big thing in Australia"... apparently many of the Aussies had started playing this song at their funerals :D
The deads last song request: Highway to hell... that is one hell of a last ride hahaha. Good on ya mates!
a year ago some one asked a question and answered it himself, what the hell is this? so this song is for you dude answering your own dumb question? lol
Just got the AC/DC Highway to Hell full face helmet for my bike, and I`m getting so much compliments,a really kick ass helmet!! AC/DC you`re the best rock band!!!
@deadlyponiezzzz I would stop trolling. People around these parts don't know what trolling is (not most, anyway) because we have lives and don't spend them trolling teh internetz. I would also advise spelling classes. As for clarification, in the off chance you are new to this, the guitarist (Angus Young) does the gun thing on the lyric "Ain't got no gun." The last guitar thing is just to look cool. Success, if you ask me.
@12gary22 acdc had a old tour bus and it totally s*cks. they drove down the highway with it and the sun shines the whole time in the bus. so bon said: "i have a new song called highway to hell!". thats the meaning. brian johnson sais so.
Actually GibsonRocker120 and 12Gary22, bon had an interview about highway to hell before he died And he said on one of their previous tours (let there be rock) that when they were on their way from Germany to the US, they werent liking the Americans too much at the time so on their way to US, bon and Ang wrote Highway To Hell
dont see any sense on this discussions between wich signer was better. Both (Bon and Brian) are great... and even bon's version of higway to hell sounds better, brian's voice suits perfectly for other great themes like thunderstruck, who made who, for those about to rock, and others.
now, the thing i hate is when people talk shit about brian johnson, without him there wouldnt have been an ac/dc, bon was amazing but without brian no back in black, no thunderstuck, just think of all the great songs brian helped write ya know?
You know, having been in a band, I know how hard it is to play the same song night in, night out and I'm a drummer, so it's even easier than a lead guitarist who must play the same notes, the same riffs over and over again. Guys like Jimmy Page just go with the flow and wing it. Every solo is different just about every night. Not so with Angus Young. He gives you what you came to hear on their big songs. He's a real professional.
Guys i think that if Bon didnt die and keep in the band AC/DC would not be that famous and good...Angus is awsome Malcom and Cliff too but i think Brian is the best singer of all time in rocn n roll music and makes AC/DC the best rock n roll band ever...BRIAN WE LOVE YOU
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
@t4sos1234 I reckon Bon had all the character and personality of the world in his voice and his act... Brian's voice is kinda annoying to my ears and, to me, he's pretty boring.
does anyone actually know the true meaning of this song? to be completely honest, the song isnt really supposed to be satanic. it really has two meanings. one can see it as satanic, or its actually speaks of a highway that starts where bon grew up to a famous 70's rock n roll pub where bon would go to get drunk the club/highway are in a valley with no stopsigns or speed limits, where many died.. it was dubbed the "highway to hell" this song is really about bon goin to get drunk. AC/DC ROCKS!!!!!
@12gary22 really well i read that it was about the hardships of being on the road being a rock band and how tiring and difficult yet very fun it can be
@12gary22 LOL I don't think people should waste too much time thinking about all kinda theories all the time about meanings. Most rock band members are just kids who never grow up and try to have some fun! And that's cool!
Some people still wondering what AC/DC really stands for.... RELAX PEOPLE AND ENJOY THE MUSIC!
@12gary22 i don't know if you've already got an answer to this question but brian johnson explained it being that bon and the rest of the guys would always have to drive down this certain road to get to a show back in australia that went through the desert, and it would be so hot and would take so long to get to the show Bon named it the highway to hell which is when they started coming up with lyrics to the song.
@12gary22 not to differ with you, but on AC/DC Behind the Music, Phil Rudd explained it by saying, "If you had been on the road with us for those years, up to that point, you would have know exactly what we were talking about."
@Mersuharrastaja well the song actually describes how they were touring across america at the time but it has a more literal meaning about the canning highway in australia..which starts in Fremantle where Bon Scott was from and ends at a bar called "the raffles" which was a big rock and roll watering hole in the 70's and when the verse "no stop signs, no speed limits" its referring to a deep incline in which alot of ppl were killed going too fast over the hill
@12gary22 uhh no mate, the truee meaning has nothing to do with wat u said, the truee meaning is about a highway just out of Adelaide in Australia, it is the shittest, hottest road to drive on, and also its talking about how tough it is on the road. so sorry mate but ur wrong
the dislike is from Jimmy Page ,the only one that chose the stairway to heaven :P
