Both Sakuraba and Uematsu have their own unique styles, and both of them are very fitting for the games that they are for.

Both of them are great, and I wouldn't put down one of them and say another is better because both of them are amazing at what they do.

Sakuraba is an...acquired taste. I can't say I've acquired it myself. I blame his fascination for synth beats, and an obsession on cranking out phat beats with a string quartet.

He also needs to drop this synth jazz kick he's been on for like ever. His orchestral and piano stuff is really nice. :<

One of the best RPG's of all time, in my top 3 for sure. Soooooo underrated. You cant even begin to top the emotion of the story in this game. Before it even came out in Japan, a Japanese trailer of the battle system to the song "illusion of the brain stem" (THE best song in the game, next to the bonus dungeon theme) had me HOOKED! Nothing like it had came out prior, you didnt see the combo's in RPG's at that point. And then hearing it was coming to the U.S., great stuff!
