The reason that they named Wheeljack "Q", is because that was his nickname from the original series G1 and the reason the name, "Dino" came about was beacuse of the car itself. The Ferrari car company wanted it to be named after the maker of the Ferrari brand. Dino Ferrari or something like that.

That was not Wheeljack. That was Brains (hence the title). And by the way...Michael Bay decided to rename Wheeljack as Q which is border-line retarded since all the merchandise and promotions will refer to him as Wheeljack.
