Is this a resistive touch screen or capacitive? Sounds like its resistive and thats why the touch is the way you describe it. Ipads and name brand tablets all use capacitive but most of these generic brands use resistive. You can YouTube/Google the difference between them.
Finally a genuine candid review by a regular Joe. I am sick and tired of the bogus audio laced reviews that have 0 validity. What is wrong with plain talk? Thanks for your review, it was very helpful!!!
The company I bought mine from has Froyo installed and it is said that this os works better for this pad which almost cancels out any objections one might have to buying this pad. Mine has 2.2 Froyo with 1.2 gz processor and 512 mb of ram.
@Scarfac3e3 I do not use any of the Task Killers - I found them not be useful on my Droid X nor this tablet - for whatever reason I have read multiple places to avoid using these task killers as they are not really helpful and in worst case scenarios can actually HURT performance.
Thanks for a great video. You probably saved me $150 (its a bit cheaper here in Germany).
Great that you included the battery info in the description, because thats one of the major points I was looking at. I will keep looking to find a cheap tablet...
@Rumpelpumpeldumpel I am glad the video was helpful......there are other tablets out there that I think you will find an overall better user experience from.
@Maxton01 Happy that you found the vid useful. I was totally in the dark when I purchased this tablet due to a lack of fair & balanced information about it. I figured there had to be other people out there who wanted to know this information from an actual ZT-180 owner rather than a business selling them
@bigbudha168 Yes I used Z4 one touch root - it is available for free in the Android Market - I also used it on my Droid X phone and it worked flawlessly and could not be any easier
@bigbudha168 I am not using any roms - I sold the Epad on Ebay a couple of weeks ago for $166 and was happy to get most of my $ back. I rooted it basically so I could use some of the apps that will only work on rooted devices. Thx for compliment about vids - having an HD Canon camera helps with quality, I use Cyberlink Powerdirector 9 to edit the video.
thank you for your great review! unbiased, and real user view points. do you have a suggestion of another one around the same price point? the lag part would drive me nuts
@ciscoelnino Sadly I do not think there is another Android tablet of this size that performs better. The best advice would be maybe look into a Color Nook that has Android Honeycomb or 2.2 loaded onto it. I believe Ebay has a few available. It is a better choice than the Epad and fit and finish is superior.
@JSquaredDesigns Thanks for the quick reply. im deffinetley going to look in to that BN nook Color, and the price point is good, around $220-$250 on ebay. thanks again
thanks man, great review! I have 2 questions: from what site did you get the tablet (more detailed than aliexpress) an which tablet do you think is better - ZT-180 or Flytouch3? thanks again!
@19grinch79 I cannot comment on Flytouch I have not used it before. I would not personally recommend the seller I used @ Aliexpress as the communication was awful and the ship time was far too long. A simple search on aliexpress for Android 2.2 10.2 will give you many different sellers. Sorry I can't recommend one but I was unhappy with the merchant I used.
@realogre32 No I was disappointed with the fit & finish of this tablet. I very much wanted to like it but had to be honest that after living with it for about a month......I really did not care for several aspects of it. Mainly the horrible battery life, sluggish touch screen performance and how long it took to boot up and power down. Since the tablet seems to fetch about $140 or so used on Ebay I decided to sell mine there and recoup some of the cost.
@yesplease1000 I agree with you - I only wanted the tablet for when sitting on couch watching tv and wishing to be able to surf net, IM, email, etc - basically just as a convenient multi-tasking tool. The reality is that I did not get much utility out of it as I prefer a standard PC or laptop over the limitations of the tablet. I am surprised tablets sell in the numbers that they do - I see serious limitations with them no matter the brand @ this point.
I do use Launcher pro on my Dx phone and love it - however I have made a decision to put the zt180 on Ebay as I am trying to raise some $ to build a quad core desktop PC. I am hoping that by xmas of this year the market will be flooded with affordably priced Honeycomb tablets. I also think an 8" tablet is a better choice for how I plan on using it.
I wonder if you have tried updating the tablet. I upgraded mine and the swipe motion is a lot more accurate and does a pretty good job. I can't remember where I got the update, but most likely XDA forum or slatedroid will lead you to the update. For the money, it did the job. I picked mine up from Aliexpress as well.

Why do you need a table. Your laptop will do all the functions you have described.

I also found that on the new upgrade with launcher pro, the screen is a lot more responsive than the stock launcher.
