Hold on, have you ever played "Fear Effect"? That was pretty fucking sick, way better than Resident Evil in my opinion. The levels looked way cooler, and I preferred the futuristic setting, and the fact the main character is a lesbian LMAO. Also it didn't have HYPER cheesy voice acting. I'd say the 1st 3D survival horror game was an FPS on the Atari Jaguar called "Alien VS Predator". At the time it was truly the scariest game ever made. Anyone who says otherwise is lying.

Well to be honest he's probably never even played Fatal Frame OR Siren, since those are some RARE ass games. Outside of the US or Japan, all I can say, is good look finding them! I've always wanted to play them, but A: I dont speaka the Japanesa, B: I dont speak Japanese. Silent Hill 2 on the other hand is DEFINITELY one of the best horror games ever made, if not THE best. Having said that, its NOT the scariest game out there AT ALL. Condemned takes that crown and wears it well.

So CoD:WaW is a horror game just because it has a horror environment or by parts of the game? Think of Nazi Zombies before you answer. And of course, then Prey can be a horror too. And Fahrenheit. And Max Payne. Even Time Splitters, when theres zombies in it. And Buffy the Vampire
But seriously, suffering? COME ON!
Theres a ton more scarier games like Silent hill, F.E.A.R, Condemed, Doom3, Resident Evil 4, Fatal frame, Dead space etc.
