@retronostalgic Thats fair enough, i played SF2 Turbo to death whean i was younger, i couldn't get enough of the game on the SNES, which is probably why SF on any other system doesn't comapre really for me.
@Retrosofer In theory , they could of made the Amiga version "arcade perfect" (as close as anyway) , if they put more effort into developing it.Since the Amiga hardware is way more powerful than the SNES or Mega Drive.Alot of Amiga console ports were poorly ported over to it. It is as if developers didn't care for the system probabbly because they knew it wasn't 1 of the "main" games platforms at the time.So they thought why bother.
@Retrosofer - Yeah true Amiga SF2 could have been better if they held it back and spent a bit more time and care on it. At least it wasn't an unbelievable rip off £65 like the Snes version was back then.
Amiga one on one beat em ups started to improve after this game....
The Amga versions always looked sensational on the back of the box but then disappointed. I think their Marketing strategy was to make great looking screenshots. As a Megadrive fan I was always a bit jealous of how close the Amiga games looked to the originals...on screenshots. Check Powerdrift, Absolutely sensational looking, but totally unplayable
US Gold at least lost the license after this disaster. The Capcom version that followed was miles better. I love how the games is actually a bit better when run under WHDLoad, especially with the loading times.
@Lorfarius WHDLoad is awesome, still cant remember the alternative program to WHDLoad though, i should have bookmarked the page. I will have to check out the Capcom version, just to compare.
Oh dear, I remember playing this one on release I also remember laughing at my mate that bought it. A pale shadow of an imitation, thanks for bringing back such good memories!
I had and have again back up copies of this game. Glad I didn't pay for the full game back in the day. The four disks got on my nerves after a while. A shame matey.
ive actually just had a look on here for the spectrum version and some geezer has put a perfect clip up. worse than i remember. bright green and black. vile. i felt pissed right off when i played it for the 1st time. cost my folks 30 quid back in circa 92. alot of bunce back then as a real recession was on and this heap of junk was my birthday present. i felt more peeved that my parents got done over rather than how shocking it was
think this is a shocking version? i had the spectrum version as a kid and boy was that poor. monochrome and 10 times slower than this and thats no exaggeration. also no bgm. and to top it off it was a 5 minute load time every bout. youve been blessed with this version, trust me.
I had the AMIGA version back in the day, and it was...not that great. Actually it was like you said, BAD! Think i'll stick to the Saturn version, as it is nearly arcade perfect.
Nice gameplay dude, i remember having thios on the amiga and man it was bloody terrible lol t does look a lot better in this vid than i remember the graphics but you did say the camera makes the colours look better :) And no background animation i mean what were they doing lol however the speech is good :)
@Snestastic Everyone involved in makeing this SF port must have known it was rubbish, yet they released it anyway, bet US Gold made a loss on this game when the reviews were in.
I'm sure that Street Fighter 1 was also ported to the AMIGA and that was even shitier than this try and track that down and post a review even if you just try it from WHDownload preinstalled games.
Turbo was also ported onto AGA and CD32 AMIGAS I think if you want to compare the 2 SF2's I suggest tracking that down too although I think it's only a little better judging by reviews.
Oh.. gosh.. Looks so promising when you first showed the packaging and stuff.. and the fact it is on the Amiga is even more shocking... the gameplay lags alot!! Great video though.. I haven't seen an Amiga port before, so this is a first for me :)
@PhatPhunk Yeh, the box art looks promising, but the game is really poor, when you consider how powerful all versions of the Amiga computers were, this should have been a better port.
@vinnieblacklodge Yeh, this is a pretty infamus port of the game, its so bad the developers must have known it was rubbish but it was still released anyway.
The Snes version wasn't that fast either. The amiga version was better for me and had better music than the snes...

@gmintyfresh The thought of having to pay full price for this game back in the day is shocking.

Wow, I didn't know this game came out for the Amigo. I'm so used to the versions on the 16-bit systems.
I use Ryu most of the time too. Great video, man!
JodeciMudvayne 1 year ago
@JodeciMudvayne Yeh, US Gold really shouldn't have bothered with a conversion on the Amiga. Ryu is the coolest, best character to use by far.

@ash81b4u I got this game in a massive Amiga games bundle years ago, so guess i didn't pay for this title really, or at least not much.
