My advice is get them done at a very professional shop like peoples jewelers, because their earrings will prevent infections. Also make sure to get a disinfectant just in case and spray them every night before you go to sleep. Keep your ears clean and good luck!

Hey Megan:) I just recently had my ears pierced 2 weeks ago. I was SO nervous. It's my first piercing and we are about the same age. I went to Icings, the ladies were so nice. You go in and you have to fill out paper work, but while your parents are doing that then they clean your ears and mark it. I had mine done at the same time and that helped. As soon as the sounds over the pain is. It's like a little bee sting. Nothing to worry about! Just clean them well! I love my earrings! Good luck! :)

The earrings where you can't see through and they're "filled in" are called "Plugs". "GAUGES" as you call them are a unit of measurement for all earrings, etc. Please just be more educated. However, I'm not calling you stupid. Just telling you what they're called.
