While Mariah, Celine, Whitney considered as the best trinity of vocal ability, (Charice was considered 4th) it still not good enough to be considered as Rolling Stone Greatest Artist of all time. I find it funny that some people commenting here measure singing talent from how much it is appreciated by American market (American-oriented is a typical Filipino trait, and maybe their greatest weakness). I think all of the singers are very talented, even though some of them still cannot break into America. The greatest barrier for non-Filipino is language and connection with America, which is no problem for Filipinos. That doesn't make non-filipino singers less talented than the Filipinos

I'm a Filipino but I've more in other asian countries than my own. I've lived in Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore, so you can say I've truly seen near all aspects of southeast asia and I can say that each country has it's own great singer. I have favourite singers in all countries.

I find it funny that some people commenting here measure singing talent from how much it is appreciated by American market (American-oriented is a typical Filipino trait, and maybe their greatest weakness). I think all of the singers are very talented, even though some of them still cannot break into America. The greatest barrier for non-Filipino is language and connection with America, which is no problem for Filipinos. That doesn't make non-filipino singers less talented than the Filipinos

Believe what you thought but what always remains is the truth. Your free to fool yourself believing that what is very impossible will happen with your Agnes who can't even reach high notes even while she using a falsetto voice.My advise to you is clean your ears so that U can hear notes clearly..But remember,"you are free to FOOL yourself"

Then I checked her version in Youtube it's depressing coz Michael Bolton has this huge powerful voice and it drowned Agnes voice. I tell you this, Agnes will fail in US. Charice 2nd album will be out early next year. She collaborated with big people. Just Watch!

However, it still remains one of the highest-selling albums by an Asian artist in the US market.....knowing the fact that anggun strive to marry a french man and needed to strive to gain success in the U.S.. but was failed many times. unlike Charice, she was just pick by Oprah because of the powerful voice that she has..

I'm a Filipino but I've more in other asian countries than my own. I've lived in Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore, so you can say I've truly seen near all aspects of southeast asia and I can say that each country has it's own great singer. I have favourite singers in all countries.
I'm a bit sadden to see so many Filipinos thinking they are the best asian country out there in terms of talent. You people need to get out of your own home and country, it's embarassing.

All I know is Charice is the certified ASIAN SUPERSTAR. Regine Velasquez is the only Southeast Asian artist to sell over 8million copies & have certified platinum albums in 7 asian countries. Lani Misalucha was chosen by the Las Vegas Best Singer 2006 beating Celine, Toni Braxton, Gladys Mcknight, Josh Groban etc.

@TheRadendonny duh???? the singers that you mentioned are not popular in the philippines, and in fact we really dont know them., because only filipinos and american singers are known here, although korean boy/girl groups have a fan base also here because of the filipino teenagers, but filipino singers are much better than other southeast asian singers, their diction and powerful voice, which can compete to american divas, Lea Salonga and charice for example.
