This is so crazy. JMU has not only the best BY FAR for a mid-sized university, but it has one of the best in the collegiate marching band line-up period. As far as second, I've been very impressed with WCU and sometimes with ECU as well. But #1?- JMU.

are you serious? JMU moves every second of every song. I have been going to the football games since i was a baby and they are indeed a MARCHING band with the best sound quality ive heard yet.

Nice sound quality...Interesting selection of Bond tunes (Goldfinger, main theme and...Can't name other)...Not too crazy about the drill.

Maybe because I'm used to University of AZ style marching/drill...where we move a LOT and play at the same time...

Not bad for your average college marching band. They sound good but are very sloppy with there feet. JMU is not the best marching band in the south. I grew up around there and if you really want to a Great Marching Band you need to see and Hear Western Carolina University. yeah we where not as big as JMU but much louder and much cleaner with much harder music and drill!!

I won't argue with drill. WCU is known for their awesome moves and drill. However as far as music it's no better than any other band. While I respect your opinion it's pretty impossible to make that claim that you are louder than us. We've at least 150 horns on you guys, and they all play. Just so you know.

My manager goes to JMU...it isn't too far from where I live. Haha our high school competed with a school that did this show...they beat us both times. They have 220 people and we have 127. We did "The Planets." But we're pretty good. JMU's band is huuuge!

You must be talking about Grafton! They're freaking awesome.... I see where they got some of their visuals from though haha. Nobody in our state ever has any chance against Grafton unless its Great Bridge or Hickory though.

Indeed I am O_o... They moved out of our class the year after. I wasn't in the band cuz I graduated but they were their own class. Poquoson does cheesy crap like they did 3 moves in "Carmina Burana" that we did in our Zorro show three years ago... Our visuals sucked.

when I lived in West Virginia James Madison was my idol! And they still are but I have to say James Madison is probably the best in the Northeast! But down here in south its gotta be the Troy U Sound of the South! Great job JMU!!! Still have one of the best sounds out there!
