  • Chris is a fucking amazing singer. I listen to this everyday because his vocals motivate me and inspire me. He is fucking unreal.

Great video that brings back great memories of one of the decades of music. Thank you Seattle for that you brought us during that time. They just don't make music like they used to anymore.

  • looks like the off ramp stage

  • he mixed the first 2 lines didnt he?

  • one of the best line-ups ever!

  • Thanks for the video, is really cool.

  • I think it`s the Crocodile Cafe (at least, appears the logo on other video of the same gig).

    Wish i was there...

  • the place is the el corozon now, was the off ramp, great place to see a show, so small holds like 300

  • call me a dog!

  • Mitici

  • Hell yeah! The Comet Tavern! The historic Seattle gig!

  • i thought this show took place at the Off Ramp Cafe...are you sure?

  • About 98% sure. Isn't the off ramp called Graceland now? Or has it changed again?

  • Do you know where and when it was taped?

  • I think Temple of the Dog is the best album with Chris, the songwriting is just great, and the vocals are fucking amazing

  • just incredible...

  • Great song :)

  • or audioslave Both the bands were great until he did the temple of the dog thing and the only good song that he came out with was hunger strike...

  • I'm mad on Chris. He could stay in SoundGarden.

  • Are you fucking kidding me......Yeah the sound quality is kinda shitty but Chris is hitting every note perfectly. This is fucking insanely good........

  • Sound quality is no good. Too bad cause I think I would really like this song.

  • this song is incredible. my fav. TOTD song, and probably my favorite Pearl Jam or Soundgarden song.

this version is much darker and Chris Cornell is an amazing talent vocally.

  • i dunno, footsteps is pretty dark

  • I second that. Amazing song. On the recorded version when Chris's voice goes unexpectedly high near the end, it sends a shiver down my spine every time

  • what the hell the guy 2 comments under me is talking about?! studio artist? have u got screws for ears?

first- he is awesome here, its just a shity quality of sound, second- check out one or two other videos of his performances before u post a comment like that because u just come off ignorant..

  • one of my favourite songs.. its a really great and emotional song for me..

  • Go check out a live performance of "Beyond the Wheel" that has 'unbelievable' in the youtube title. It'll blow your mind. Best live singing I've ever heard.

  • Cornell is just unreal!!!!!!!!!!

  • Times of Trouble > Footsteps

The piano makes it. I like both versions though.

  • PJ rocks this better on "footsteps"

  • footsteps is better

  • this is the song i end it to

  • when music became life 4 me!!!!!!!

  • 1:31.....cornells voice is a voice to be worshipped!

  • i wish the crowd would shut the fuck up

  • Hear the music Footsteps from pearl jam!

The music is the same, only the words change

  • is it just me or is this song the same as footsteps by pearl jam, not the vocals, but its the same chords is it not?

  • yep it is, half the guys up there are from pearl jam

  • i guess stone showed the song to ed and chris

  • Very good, not many people notice that. OR even know what "Footsteps" is. However, this song, "Times Of Trouble" came before "Footsteps". The music itself was written by Stone Gossard (I think) but I believe "Times Of Trouble" was a full-fledged song before "Footsteps". Both, completely awesome tunes.

  • for sure there both awesome, im gonna have to say times of trouble is superior, something about the chorus is just epic and climactic, if only i could sing that lol

  • Actually, Footsteps was written first. Just. But I can't dispute that Times of Trouble was made into a 'full-fledged song' first. You're right, they're both awesome.

  • Wrong, Footsteps was written first by Eddie, but when Cornell listened to it on a tape that Eddie gave Stone, they changed the lyrics and put it on Temple of the Dog's CD. But, i have to say, both versions are amazing, and Eddie as a song writer... he blows my head off!. The whole mamasan trilogy is amazing.

  • You're almost right. Stone wrote the music for the song. Chris put his lyrics to Stone's music and the song became Times of Trouble, Ed put his lyrics to Stone's music and the song became Footsteps.

  • I wish I can write and sing music like this. But i'm just a noob.

  • I have to play this song at times to remember the good days of quality indie music that once was

  • sounds like u cant be bothered to look anymore...

  • Guys, best song ever written .I hope one day they will get togheter again and sing this BEAUTIFUL song.

    SOMETIMES THE RULES GET HARD

  • chris cornell

  • so... you basically don't believe in Eddies voice?

  • i do believe. but it's the only trancendent thing that i belive in :D

  • oh ok I gotcha. word...

  • That's Chris Cornell stupid

  • ya no shit, how did eddie come into play

  • he was out there and i think jeff new him and introduced him to cornell and they recorded hungerstrike

  • LMAO

I was waiting for someone to notice that one. lmao xD

  • what a voice!

  • Greatest band that ever played 1 CD................. Too fucking bad, so sad..........Soundgarden and Audioslave are just fronts for Chris and his vocals.

  • Soundgarden not a front. They were a great rock band full of great musicians who made incredible music. Go back and listen a few more times!!!

  • I don't even know your name, cutie, did you take these videos yourself? :p.

  • He messes up the first lyrics. He switches the spoon and needle part. That being said this is one of the best song's I've ever heard

  • I listen to this song everyday when i m in the bathroom n i just feel like im lifted up like im in a heavenly realm...o god this song is ttooooo beautiful...Chris got the voice of a fallen angel

  • I couldn't agree more with you man. Times of Trouble is so relaxing man really pretty cool song hehe

  • The effect of that technical distortion at 04:24 is fantastic. Psychedelic.

  • I used to love this song in my addiction to heroin, I'm clean now but I still love the tunes, live rocks!!

  • that is the most genius idea ever

  • Chris should tour with Pearl Jam for his solo release. Then we'd technically have Temple of the dog on that tour too.

  • good point, considering Matt Cameron is w/ Pearl Jam

  • Man that would be a dream come true. In 2003 they reunited in a california concert but a whole tour would be awesome.

  • Great song. Awsome voice back in the day, chris. not many fans of seattle sound in australia know of temple of the dog. before its time.

  • its the same song, footsteps and this song is the same song written by stone w/ temple of the dog

  • yeah i just realized that today haha.....I like Times of Trouble better than Footsteps tho.

  • This song is so heavy...

I remember the first time I heard this song. I felt like I was lifted up and taken somewhere special sort of speak.

  • Yeah every time I listen to is it feels like your life has a new beginning or somthing........new things come or somthing haha

  • Chris Cornell was good friends and a room mate of Andrew young. Andy was a major figure in the Seattle music community in the late 80's and this project "temple of the dog was about him"! MOTHER LOVE BONE RULES"

  • Andrew Wood

  • Stone Gossard wrote the song/riff. Chris has his lyrics and Eddie Vedder has his own. In the Pearl Jam "Massaman Triology", Footsteps is the final song.

  • Great show...

Fuck... A little part of Rock history!!!!

Amazing tune. I still play it on my guitar...

  • Man..

What a time to live in Seattle!

Back then you could simple be face to face with the masters of american music in the 90´s... Long live grunge!

  • Hell yeah LONG LIVE GRUNGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i miss that voice.

    RIP Andy.

    RIP chris' voice

  • wish I was there, fkn awsome, miss ya Andy!

  • amazing song wrote for the late great andrew wood R.I.P can someone please find this song with better audio..shitty sound

  • pearl jam did a song almost alike but its called footsteps off of the Lost Dogs album its pretty cool

  • The only song missing from the entire set as it has been posted on youtube is my favorite, "All Night Thing". Where is it!!?

  • my fav too

  • Chris was so much better at singing then...
