And at least you can somewhat alleviate the drone of the CVT by using the preselected "gear" ratios. Still slightly odd without the shift shock of changing gears, but not horrible.

Finally raced this "prized" Nissan Altima Coupe 3.5L..brand new. I was behind this guy at a light..he punched it off the light..so did I... in 1st and 2nd, he pulled about 2-3 car lengths-- as I was redlining 3rd I began to catch up, by 4th gear 100mph.. I was almost side by side with em.. as I hit 112 (my 4th gear redlines 115mph) then redline, I was a good 3 -4 cars ahead.. As I engaged 5th gear a little, I took off from there.... I drive a 2002 S2000--6spd--

@mikefking Of course, this car requires premium to run its best. All cars want premium gas to run as it should with the full potential of it's established horsepower and torque. But, cars today dont NEED premium gas if ur taking a ride to get groceries or driving your kids to school. There is something called a knock sensor. Of course, premium is better but in many cases not needed. Look up the knock sensor and fill up the morning because you'll get more for your money because of its density.

it's interesting to watch a tach on a cvt. unlike anything i've ever seen...something that redlines and stays there while the mph raise. novelty for me. good? dunno. fairy unique? yes.

i have the 3.5se 6speed manual and the handing is second to none numb nuts. and for the guy with the 05 3.5sedan. it's not the same at all. you car doesn't come with standard 270hp. you cars wheel base is longer meaning it won't handle. your car is heavier meaning it won't pick up as fast. 05sedans come with under 250hp, but you wouldn't know that, cause you just drive a soccer mom car... peace
