  • Hello mate just a quick question. Does these fans connect in to where the old fans went or in to the DVD drive if you could reply through private message I would be greatful thanks

  • that is just so unessisary since you can just add a wire from the dvd drive to the original fan amd it will run at 12v

  • @OmgVegas Or instead of siphoning power from the DVD drive you can just bridge one of the transistors at the back to make it run at 12V constant like I have on my console. But considering these fans move more air than the stock despite what voltage they run at, they are defiantly not unnecessary.

  • do you have to use the nitro swicth what i mean is i just want to put the fan in and thats it i can,nt be arsed to keep pushing the botton when i think its geting hot , did the old xbox fan spin up faster on there own when they knew its geting hot, just want to know if i do not use the nitro swicth is it the same as my stock fans not sure if the stock fan use to spin up faster on there own

  • @bauerjack1978 The switch is just so you can put it in a faster mode manually, really, it makes no difference as the fan speed will always change it'self when needed, the reason the older consoles overheated isn't because of the fan speed but the level of cooling and air distribution/expulsion.

If you buy the newer fans, they have the option to install the nitro switch or not, your choice, I will PM you with more information.

  • xbox 360 is not a loud system if Microsoft not being cheap about and add some whisper fan...those cheap shank

  • Dude i think this is great personally i don't really care if its any louder or what ever the simple fact that its cheap and if gives a cool look with the leds thats all i really want it for just for the leds but are they bright???? is it worth buying

    thanxx

  • @iXiXeroXiXi There pretty bright with your lights out and have a good life expectancy.

  • cause you should have showed someone how to install them not everyone knows how to install them it just would have made the video better i know how to install lights and all that shit very simple and i knwo how to fix the red ring of doom lol its all very simple

  • @dvdripper2010 Theres so many videos of people installing these it would have been pointless for me to ,ake a video.

  • @dvdripper2010 I HAVE TO INSTALL THE LEDS WTF!

  • this vdieo was pointless everyone should know how to do this stuff lol

  • @dvdripper2010 How was it pointless, read the decscription and comments you idiot, people have asked me for help and advice with this product and I have gave it, your comment is pointless. Why don't you find something better to do than spam peoples videos with your, 'pointless' views towards their console mods. Why don't you continue to upload pointless camera tests.

  • @garytylee49 Hi, im glad you got them installed fine, if you are looking to further customize you should check some of my other videos to see where im at now. :)

  • @elatesword4xboxlive Are these fans worth it? I'm not sure whether to get Red or blue.

  • @xxMSG97xx I installed these for a friend 2 years ago, his console is still running fine as is mine, I have the standard fans, which is just fans and a color, where he has the nitro fans which just makes them faster when clicked, there is now the new talismoon legacy which are supposed to be even better. The choice of color is down to you to what ever you think looks best, if your console is having problems at the minute, I suggest you wait for it to break, send to MS and then fit the fans.

  • Do you have to do any soldering in the installation?

  • @spookymcfuzzy nope, it just plugs into where the fans go, older consoles like this one in the video use 4 pin connectors while newer consoles use 3 pins, but the product has wires for both cases.

  • @elatesword4xboxlive Thanks for clearing that up BTW Is it worth it?

  • @spookymcfuzzy If you like the looks of what it gives, but otherwise not really, it's all just for the light shows and the rest, if you check my other videos you'll see what I mean.

  • what store can you get the fan at

  • @305EVER Its in the description, if you live in the USA, PM me and i'll help you out.

  • i know i went there and thay r all soldout

  • they never go over 5V?

  • They will change from 5V to 12V automatically, depending on what your doing, if you dont have the whisper fans max, it doesnt come with a nitro button, all the button does is let you manually change from 5V to 12V yourself, however i believe this could be dangerous if done immaturely (as in pushing the button as fast as you can) as the power spikes could damage either fans or console. The button isnt that important.

  • So you mean the stock fans runs at 5V?

  • They run at 5v and 12v, depending on how high the processing is working, for example if the xbox is idle (your not doing anything) then it will run at 5v, but if your doing online matchmaking then it will run at 12v, the nitro button on the fans give the user a manual choice of weather they want 5v or 12v. Personally, i see no sound difference, 12v is still as loud as hell but i use them for the cosmetic effect.

  • @elatesword4xboxlive

are you talking about the stock fans or the whisper fan max? because i dont have any nitro button?

So the stock fans only switch between 5V and 12V ? nothing live 9V for instance?

  • have you gotten the RROD death with these? please add video of the heat sinks too!

  • so this would be the second version of the talismoon whisper fans because it has the nitro switch right?

  • Yep, the cheaper version comes with just the colour you choose and no nitro switch. but the one that has the switch is the one that comes with the three different coloured LED's

  • Can't argue with cool, blue and sexy :)

Still, I wish I could find some fans worthy of the name whisper.

  • "Whisper" don't make me laugh, these things are no quieter than the stock fans on my jasper :(

And when you switch them to full speed, it's crazy how loud they get. I'm talking you can hear them from the next room, no joke.

Saying that, you should never have to have them on full speed, so that doesn't matter so much.

  • On 5v they sound no different from the stock fans, on 12v i will admit it sounds like a baby put in a blender. And I also agree that they shouldn't be on 12v to long, the 12v was introduced for people who spend all their xbox time in big online games, halo 3, GOW, COD and other crap. But look how blue they are, its just cool and sexy and cool and blue.

  • Do you have to solder or anything to install the fan?

  • nope, it just clips in, but if you have an elite, then you have to buy an extra piece to fit it.

  • where can i get this extra peice? what is it?

  • @SPANKiEPANTS that is so true lol

  • You can buy these on ebay 20 buks free shipping

  • Good for you.

  • can u buy them in a store or does it have to be from the internet???

  • Internet only, im afraid, if you need help finding a reseller for where you live just give me a shout.

  • looks kool

  • how do you get xbox's to look like this

  • you open it and install the fan

  • u mod it

  • sorry i took to long to reply, but just google around for xbox mods or slip me a PM if you want advice.

  • hey do you know if since there is more air cooling the unit if you needed the fan tunnel?

  • i think the fan tunnel is still need to be honest but you can buy transparent versions of them for little money, or transparent ones that light up.

  • So, It helps the cooling better (Which helps to prevent RROD a bit) AND It looks good? :p

  • yeah, thats like the basics it covers, the problem is; that say you were going to play a high processing demanded game such as halo 3 online for 10 hours straight, then thats the sort of thing that will break the console regardless of airflow. the fans will help with overheating, but not to a ridiculous degree where the thing is basically on fire, the looks of it are just there to be more appealing as well which it can be to some people i guess. but yeah, i think it looks pretty cool.

  • Hmm, Alright man, Thanks for replying ;]

  • you need to know how to open the console fully and where to buy the parts from, its simple after all that.

  • sometimes if the console is on the way out they still break with the fans installed anyway, i would personally keep it on 12v to stop much bother.

  • what does the nitro switch do? do the leds add heat to the the system at all? dnt want my xbox breaking anymore than usuall but this looks sweet

  • the LED's don't add heat to the console and the nitro-switch makes the fans faster from 5v to 12v, it also makes the LED's lighter.

  • hey whenever u do this can u still send ur 360 back 2 microsoft if it messes up? i heard that if u do thangs like this(mods) that u cant but is this considered a mod

  • yes, this is a mod and you will not be able to send your 360 back to microsoft if it breaks.

  • hey is it the 12v bad for the unit? like its stealing and sucking a 12v of power to the system and its component?

  • I don't think so because the power comes from the mains cable.

  • "Hello, the fan came in a plastic casing that contained two heat sinks, these go on the GPU & CPU on the motherboard"

No those are for the North Bridge and South Bridge. Not CPU and GPU. The CPU and GPU are under the two huge heat sinks. NooB

  • Ok settle down spaz, i only read the instructions as they came, i already knew that they were not the CPU and GPU after i put them on. so please take your condescending comments such as NooB and piss off.

  • how much were they on the link you gave us.

  • The fan i bought cost about £12

  • When you bought this, what did it came with besides the fan??

  • Hello, the fan came in a plastic casing that contained two heat sinks, these go on the GPU & CPU on the motherboard of the xbox for additional cooling, it came with a wires that are easy to connect to were they go just by looking at them, it comes with the nitro switch that goes inbetween the gaps of the vents at the back of the console and it also came with two sets of eight LED's that are red & green, the blue that you see are already installed in the fan.

  • Looks soooo cool, sam I dont have one :(

  • Sweet :] *Thumbs up*
