  • Do you like Wolfmother or Queens of the Stone Age? Because you have the perfect tone for their song! :)

  • Jack White uses the ZVex woolly mammoth on Another Way To Die, but he uses it with a guitar, so it sounds bad ass.

  • You have shitty cables! Ummmmm!

  • @vicazenec First of all, those are 6 bucks a piece. Second, I no longer have those cables and went to the Solder-less Bullet patch cables.

  • That thing sounds awesome...

Question- does this thing have a mids boost on it?

  • @Tazthewonderdog it does not

  • @zservenate Oh well, thanks though!

  • What's is that a poster of behind you? The pink one??

  • @saulpreciad0 its a Clockwork Orange poster (orange not pink). Its a book/movie that's awesome and weird.

  • I was playing a bunch of bass amps at the music store today, hoping to upgrade, and the guy working there said I should try this pedal. I'm keeping my old amp now, and just getting this. It's perfect.

  • Thanks for sharing this video I just purchased one on ebay after watching your demonstration. Keep on rocking btw is that a carvin your playing?

  • @elder2112 Thanks, and yes, the carvin icon

  • @zservenate btw is the distortion before or after the wooly mammoth. Just got the pedal really great effect.

  • @elder2112 I put the distortion before, but mess around with it and see what you like. So Distortion to fuzz to bass.

  • you look like Brann Dailor from Mastodon

  • wow you're the only person who can play a bass with distortion, keep it up

  • Wicked review man, you covered a lot of important ground.

  • first of all. great vid. been contemplating this for awhile. that price is just…. rough to say the least. but also, what kinda camera are you using in the beginning to show off the actual pedals?

  • @dakotagrey16 Thanks, Its a canon t2i. Check out my other videos like the devotchka one and others to see what it really can do. Its actually through the entire video, I just messed up the settings on it when I had a full shot going.

  • btw. pinch = gate

  • wow

  • Put a rat next to anything and it'll sound good :)

  • i didn't mean all your videos suck btw, they're all good, i mean the other videos of this pedal are awful and yours was the only good one :)

  • @SpecialAgentKit its all good man, miscommunication on my part.

  • he should play a guitar.

  • @123ArDa123 No, because he plays bass.

  • nicely done, all the other videos suck XD

  • Nice Woolly video! Rock it. ZVEX Effects

  • OK! You convinced me to get this damned pedal!! :) Nice review!

  • thank you so much for this review. def getting one!

  • Nice demo.

  • @KeTeVemCovers it is isnt it

  • @programmer4561 ja valda da je lol

  • @KeTeVemCovers i dont understand you???

  • @programmer4561 LoL IDI NA SKYPE!

  • @programmer4561 Go on skype

  • AAAAHHHHHH!!!! i really wish i could afford this. This is the fuzz i have always wanted. It gives you that gritty fuzz sound but still lets you hear all of the tone and doesnt drowned out the notes.

  • Nice sound, and you're really good bass player!

  • the WM and the Rat work together so well!

  • good demo but the bassist of muse he use a mammoth bass fuzz and digtech synth wan effect sorry mammoth bass fuzz tone it dozen sound synth

  • Great Vid! I love you.

  • Very nice demo man! Great info and playing.

  • starts at 1:33

  • great demo!

  • I've played the Mammoth, I was really disappointed to be honest after all the hype. I don't believe in using multiple fuzz/distortion pedals together. A good pedal will do the trick by itself. Look into the bluebeard fuzz by sanford and sonny. It's the best thing thats ever happened to me. Ps why would anyone ever want to sound like Muse?

  • @doobeye because theyre an amazing band with awesome sounds ...

  • @stevenlp12 I'd have to respectfully disagree. Gave them a chance and watched their set at Coachella in April too, i thought it was really boring.

  • @doobeye really? i would have loved them at Coachella

    what did you find boring?

  • @stevenlp12 Don't get me wrong, they're all definitely talented, its just their music doesn't strike me as anything new or innovating that excites me. They've got some good parts, but once I start to enjoy a riff it turns into something that caters to a more radio-friendly ear. I can't say I hate them, cause they're a good band but I dunno, its just not my cup of tea. Not trying to stir up an argument though, I can see why their popular, I just get bored quickly.

  • @doobeye I love Muse myself

    but youre kind of right

    I understand

  • man your tones and pedals are amazing, cool amp, and cool fuzz/synth/distortion

  • Really nice demo.... I'm considering the Zvex Mastotron... good price point but the Wooly Mammonth sounds great per your demo!!

    Nice set up too...

  • Thanks, is the mastotron made mainly for guitars? I know these pedals sound go through both bass and guitar. That rat pedal is "just for guitar" and it has been my favorite after trying all the electro harmonix ones

  • @zservenate Right on man... Actually the Mastotron is featured in Bass Player's magazine latest issue along with a host of other bass fuzz/overdrive pedals. Great issue on hard rock! You got me sold on the Mammonth if I could afford it which is why I'm going for the Mastotron $149.00, there are really good reviews on it as well..

    "Keep playing that nice bass...!"

  • @sleekbass and I just stoped my order on that magazine...
