Nourset, thank you for posting! I'm a longtime TFF fan, but I always felt Roland had the stronger voice and far deeper lyrical talent (not to mention the killer guitar skills). While this song conjures up feelings about love and loss we can all relate to, I think it may be based on the pacifist practices of the Native American Standing Buffalo. I grew up in the Dakotas and am deeply rooted to this culture. I would LOVE to see Roland take this CD live. In Pittsburgh, please!
Here I am again listening to Roland/Curt/TFF long after my bedtime. It's truly an addiction. For the life of me I can't understand how I can listen to their music this much, and not be tired of it, but I'm not!!! Anyway, off to bed now for reals!
Moi aussi, j'adore ce titre : voix chaude, mélodie douce, simple mais efficace. Encore une preuve que cet album "Tomcats screaming outside" est un petit bijou et que Roland devrait se remettre à composer pour donner un petit frère a cet album !!!
It's not just the women that think he's hot... There is something about his voice and his appearance that is just.... sensual in an unconceited kind of way... something that cuts to the core of humanity and feeling... something that draws you in and makes you feel connected... something I can't quite put in words. Definitely hot.
He does have quite an affect on many of us! That voice is just a killer. I wish he would put out another record soon. Anyone heard if just he or he and Curt are working on anything?
Its kind of ironic,, when I first heard some songs of Rolands on TCSO, I really did'nt like them to much,,, But I listen to this CD so much and love even one song I really almost hated, (but loved just because it was Roland singing). I remember the first time I heard Raoul and the kings of Spain,, I really disliked it,, but it remains one of many that I just never get enough of!! And girls if he does'nt know the effect he has on us, somebody needs to give him a talking to!! Me????
at 4:54 is the best picture of him in his later years that I have ever seen! Thanks. He still is one of my favs and that voice! But he has aged quite a bit.
You know how people say that someone has "IT" which makes them a star? That's what Roland has. I thought he was cute in the 80s, but didn't like his hair behind his ears-it bugged me-but at the same time I could never take my eyes off him while watching TFF videos on MTV. Roland's phenomenal voice and his music plus his "IT" factor make it impossible not to be mesmerized by him! I love that there is so much Roland here on You Tube! You Tube is todays MTV but a 1000 times better! :)
Someone else said he looks like Jerry Seinfield or something like that. I don't see it. On :43 he looks like Howard Stern, but much cuter. Wink. :) I think he has this hold on me or women.
Okay!! I am bias. I admit... I AM a Roland junkie. Ooh, big surprise! :D Of course, Curt is a good musician. I would go his gigs in Cal if could fly crosscountry as easily as it is to fly to Florida. BTW, Oleta Adams is goind to be in NYC soon. Planning to go see her. Crossing my fingers.
That's cool that Oleta Adams is going to be in NYC. She wouldn't happen to be bringing Roland with her. Hey a girl can dream-lol. Me too I am also a Roland junkie. There's just something about Roland.
But I think if I met him, I would propably be so nervous that I would faint. When it comes to Roland I am like a gushing schoolgirl. It is awful. I wonder if he knows he has this effect on women.
Same here but worse... I almost faint by just hearing his voice :-)
I bet he does but I have a feeling that he second guesses himself at the same time. And is so tormented by his love of women, being married and all. Anyway, saw Oleta. She was absolutely amazing. I have no words to describe her talent and charisma.
I have to agree that Roland was and is the driving force in TFF.I like Curt of course, but hes great for playing bass and singing harmonies otherwise his voice is a bit weak on its own but he is still a cutie after all these years! But there are few equals to Roland vocally and as a songwriter. And hes still HOT too!!!!!!!!
Come Squeaky, don't be so sensitive. It is a fact not an angry comment. Fact of life, RO is the creator of wonderful music and possesses one of the most beautiful and powerful voices of all time. Curt is a good musician... nothing else to say about him. He has to live with that.
I agree with you RJO, to bad he is not single :( . On a positive not I heard he has two brothers : ). I think I read somewhere he was angry at Curt because he wrote alot ot music and coached him vocally.
I know, right? I actually interpreted slighly different what RO said about. I think it was more like he was stuck in the studio working hard and felt Curt wasn't engaged enough. Just wanted to live the life of a celebrity. Something like that.
To jest jeden z tych utworów,które za pierwszym razem wydają się dziwne i ma się ochotę przełączyć, ale po drugim wysłuchaniu dochodzi się do stwierdzenia, że to doskonały numer. Szacunek
I made this video several months ago, it was already on youtube but I deleted it...and I forget to post it again.....I love this song and hope Roland will play it on stage on day....who knows?.....
OMG! Nourset, you've done it again! Amazing job!! I love it! This entire album is pure Roland! A true masterpiece! I wish more people knew about it. I'm trying to turn as many people on to it as possible. This album was originally called Buffalo Standing but he changed it to Tomcats. There's a whole story behind it but it's too long to write here.
I totally agree with fact about this CD being all Roland. And the story re: The Title to this cd is (Lets see if I can make it short...lol.)He and his wife were at the hospital late one night for one of her parents (I think)and she had made a remark about these cats howling outside and said "They saound like Tomcats Screaming Outside". Viola'
There! I think I summed it up. Is that what you heard?
