You did a much better job controlling yours with one hand lol. If I had a smaller snow thrower I bet I could have done just as good lol. I love the older stuff you just fix it up a little bit and most of the time you have a good running machine.
@workensmart When you operate the snowblower it moves when you have it in gear, and the clutch handle released. That is why i operated the camera so easy.
@craig1974 did you see my video It looks like a shaky mess lol. At first I started off in 5th gear and then after I finally get out of my drive way I try and go over a pile of snow in front of my house and things go down hill from there lol. I should get a tripod for the next snow storm.
I pick it up tommarow. 1996 Dodge Dakota 318. I originally bought it 2 weeks ago, but changed my mind figuring i could buy a newer truck. I have the money. I put in an offer on a 2001 Ford Ranger with 61,000 miles, but the offer was declined. Fucking salesmen! I just got sick of driving crap, and was ready to buy something decent. I couldnt find any similar trucks with the same mileage/price, so i bought the Dakota as a vehicle to use now. Maybe i will keep it after winter. Who knows?
@BandOnTheRun87 2 stages have shoes on them that need adjusting. that sets the height of the scraper. You set it high for gravel and low for pavement. The scraper is set slightly above the pavement so the blower doesn't catch and snag on every little crack in the pavement.
You know your hav'n fun when your blowing snow off the lawn lol. I might be doing the same thing tommorrow morning:) Nice blower and it even sounds good.
I was making room for a temporary place to store my new truck until i get it registered. Then im going to street park it. I blow the snow into the yard anyway. As for the blower you should of seen it when i got it. Flat tires, varnishy fuel system. It was so bad i had to replace the tank!
Its a two stage snowblower. Single stage ones just have augers. Two stages have both auger, and impellers. I dont think its a 1970's model. Somewhere in the late 1960's range.

flat tires are a good thing, I run mine at 2 PSI and they get awesome traction like that. ^_^

I have a 1978 ariens that I found in someone's trash...all it needed was an oil change and tune up. Can't kill those old beasts.

hey its not getting down to the pavement, why is it that snowblowers especially two stages ride on top of the snow? mine does it all the time
BandOnTheRun87 3 years ago
this is a gravel driveway. snowblower works better on sidewalk.
craig1974 3 years ago
@BandOnTheRun87 Because you push down on the handlebars and it raises the front end off the ground

@l337pwnage i use thin wood shims, or old lawnmower blades to adjust my skids.
craig1974 1 year ago
@craig1974 I set mine the thickness of a dime for pavement. If I had gravel, I would set it for 1" or so.

Single stage 70's snow blower seems to be doing a good job blowing 6 inches of snow, lets see what it does with a foot! LOL Thanks for sharing
Peace :)

Not too much of a blizzard here. Just 3 inches. Does well in a foot, but the drifting in your face really sucks.

I'll bet :P

Well shit, I could have swore it was 70's but then again 60's and 70's all look the same to me without looking at the date label lol. Thanks for info
Peace :)

I think, but I'm not sure, the 1960's units had the metal belt cover?
