The idea of the anchor baby in real life is one, declare indigent migrant status and get all hospital births done for free; two, get the anchor baby instant USA citizenship, and three, the mother and child get instant Aid to dependent children, aka, welfare and human services checks. This is also just one of the calculated hardship heart strings that are used to make us feel guilty if we deport the anchor babies family, and we are so sappy we fall for it. Meanwhile we reward their disrespect.

There is nothing noble about illegal aliens political status, and living in a country without asking, getting permission. and qualifying for legal status. Your status is that of Political invaders, and that is an international crime too. Anchor babies are produced for cash cow status.

@wheatherornot I hope you are aware just by having their babies inside the U.S, illegal immigrants are not guaranteed to stay in the U.S. They can be deported as soon as they are caught. Having a baby in the U.S does not in any way shape or form anchor anyone to stay in the U.S. Don't believe the hype.

@AnchorBabyMovie That is all fine and dandy if our immigration laws were being fully enforced but, unfortunately, they are not. Two owners of a candy store, called USA, are so busy arguing about the phone bill, that the illegal aliens notice no one is watching them, so they take liberties of that advantage for their own selfish gains. Why would they not want to come here, the rewards are great, and the risk of living here illegally is small. If we keep feeding the cancer, it gets bigger.

I was moved by this trailer and would like to watch the movie for the following reasons

1) I knew Omoni Oboli i n Sec. Sch. in Nigeria. She was a year ahead of me and she's come a long way since then.

2) I'm both a British citizen (by birth) and a Nigerian.

3) Omoni Oboli announced on her Facebook page that she won an award for this movie.

I'm in favor of this film. Still, I hope it does NOT separate Black issues from Latino ones. I say that since I noticed, in the trailer, an immigration officer who seems Latina (which exist) but I don't see a black one (which also exist). I also noticed a hateful coyote which is Latino (and exist) but I don't see a hateful Black character (which also exists). I see many positive Black characters (which exist) but I don't see one positive Latino (which also exist). Let me add, I am an anchorbaby

@SanchezJohnny I understand your concern. What the movie does is to show the struggles immigrants go through in order to belong to the American society. It simply sheds light on what "some" illegal immigrants go through ( both good and bad), in order to obtain the US passport. It's not a black and brown issue.

@AnchorBabyMovie - I agree it's not a black & brown issue but an immigration one that specially affects lower class immigrants & people of color. Which is why I said, in my initial post, I'm in favor of the film. My concern is how the issue is portrayed in the trailer (have not seen the film yet). To really show this is not a black & brown issue, but one for all people of color, the diversity of the issue must be reflected in the storyline & in the casting - and what my initial post comments on.

@AnchorBabyMovie - I should add, reason I made the initial post is in your trailer the main Latino characters ONLY seem to hate on African ones. Yes, prejudiced Latino people exist but, as you say, this is not a black & brown issue. To truly capture that, I should see a balance of 'good' & 'bad'- black and brown characters. As filmmakers, when we deal with serious issues we must know the impact we create on EVERYONE. It's as if I were to make a film about racism but only show bad white people.

@SanchezJohnny I don't think the trailer in any way portrays the Latino hating on the African characters. From the dialogue between them, there is no hate coming from the hispanic character towards the African. You are translating it totally wrong. Also, one cannot tell a 95mins from watching a mere 2.30mins of trailer. Maybe you should wait till you see the entire movie before arriving at a conclusion.

This is about illegal aliens, and the only way they belong in American society is legally. And I am not interested in amnesty in any form, we went through that with Ronald Reagan, and all that did was set up whole lot of safe houses, and false document mills for starters.
