I just showed this video an American (who doesn't like Obama just 'cos he's black) and they REALLY don't want to see this stuff... They want to stay oblivious to it. To be quite frank, they complain about all their problems like gun crime and terrorism, but then they do the equivalent of covering their ears, eyes and yelling.
Michael Moore makes a good point about violence in the media. Some of the bloodiest, goriest, most violent films I have ever seen have come from Japan. One that comes to mind is Ichi the Killer, directed by Takashi Miike. It has some of the most sick, brutal and sadistic scenes of killing, torture and mutilation ever put to film. And yet, there is not as much crime over there as there is here.

Theres one fact that Moore does get wrong. The factory in Sudan was in fact making anti-malaria drugs. Countless thousands died in central Africa after the attack because they couldn't get anti-malaria medication. There are other things he misses - the invasion of Grenada for example, a factory exporting agricultural produce that threatened the monopoly of US corporations was one of the first buildings bombed.

Perhaps an observation of pure statistical fact...population of the US (about) 310,000,000...population of Canada (about) 35,000,000....so Canada has approximately 1/10th the population of the USA...i'll assume your stats are correct, 800 murders per year in Canada would be the equivalent of 80,000 in the USA so that means Canada would have 260 (ish) percent more murders than the USA...please think before you speak!!!!

One that comes to mind is Ichi the Killer, directed by Takashi Miike. It has some of the most sick, brutal and sadistic scenes of killing, torture and mutilation ever put to film. And yet, there is not as much crime over there as there is here.

Theres one fact that Moore does get wrong. The factory in Sudan was in fact making anti-malaria drugs. Countless thousands died in central Africa after the attack because they couldn't get anti-malaria medication. There are other things he misses - the invasion of Grenada for example, a factory exporting agricultural produce that threatened the monopoly of US corporations was one of the first buildings bombed.

I love how they don't show statistics for places like China and Russia, only countries that have lower populations than the US. This documentary's a good, informative one if you know how to look for buzzwords and traps.

@1TomatoJuice1 it wouldn't make a difference if they showed statistics for higher populated countries. Australia had a shooting death rate of 65 per year, its population was 21 million at the time, so if you do the math,
USA's population is 13 times higher than Australia, that would mean that if you multiply Australia's shooting-death rate by 13, you get 455, compared to 11 000 shooting-death rates in america

When he shows himself walking out of the bank with a gun many reviewers said that it was disgusting that a man could get a gun that easy. Trouble is, it wasn't . Moore didn't pick up his gun at the bank. He picked it up 300 miles from the bank several days later. He's a liar.

@SugarLoveForever He did get a gun but that bank doesn't have any guns inside. The ones shown are fake. The real gun you get is over 300 miles away. You can't walk into that bank and sign up and walk out with a gun . And they have no guns at that bank, but Michael Moore edits the film to make it look that way.

@SugarLoveForever No. In the film he edits it to look like he filled out the application and walked out with the gun the same day and from the bank. He didn't get the gun the same day, he didn't get the gun from the bank. In fact he filled out the application 2 months before filming it but the viewer is under the impression that he did get the gun from the bank and walked out with it the same day.

@TELEVISIONARCHIVES For a while, it was thought that they had gone to a bowling lesson before school. It was later confirmed by classmates that they were absent that day. They probably would have gone bowling that morning, had it not been for the massacre.

He did that to Charlton Heston. Showing him making a speech that didn't happen when Moore said it did.

In that movie he reports about a Satellite Truck being stolen when Nightline was going to do a live report about Flint. Fact is it never happened. No Satellite truck was ever stolen , no Nightline show was ever planned. Michael Moore made it all up. Every bit of it.
