If only the US would focus more on things like this instead of on war, who knows where we could be tech wise? Thank goodness the Japanese have higher priorities.
@whizkidnic Exactly. You could stack a ton of metal, kevlar, carbon nanofibers and a crapload of other stuff on to this thing and still have somewhat fluids movement.
For this HAL, it wont work for those with a broken spine or spinal cord damage right? They wouldnt have impulses transmitted from their brain to the whichever limb they wan to move..
@guilder16 you would be correct. the man depicted must have had an intact spinal cord. but the spinal cord would have to be severed; people with a broken spine may still use this as long as the cord is intact.
@lorienoland Estimated cost for full suit, which will be released on trial to hospitals in 2012, then later for commercial use, will be an estimated $4,200.
Just get one of these and if you see a street crime going on, just pick one dude up and throw him across the street. The other one will run away like a chicken. :)
i the name of the suit and company, the irony. but nonethelss, its an increadible machine. would love to have something like this, no one will be able to fuck with me!
so 40 kilos is eqaul to 82 pounds that he can lift easily, im very happy that it helps the disabbled, but for my idea i expected something stronger like 500 pounds effortlessly
Sankai was offered a military contract to weaponized the full HAL suit, but he turned it down, which I have to respect him for his decision because those suits have a purpose and it should be used for what it is made
Mr. Yoshiyuki must have watched too much "Terminator." How are you supposed to take a company named "Cyberdine" seriousely. Any who, I really like the suit.
