First of all, Gwen had a CRUSH on Merlin, and her feelings for Lancelot didn't develop into anything significant until 2x04, at which point she was in a really intense situation that heightened every emotion. She TURNED DOWN Gwaine's attentions, clearly showing that she wasn't interested, and it was Arthur who pursued her. Furthermore, liking several people doesn't make you a slut. Actually, NOTHING can make you "a slut." Please take your misogynistic language elsewhere.

@Hiomie And again, that's an incredibly misogynistic idea. Simply because she likes more than one person that doesn't mean she's "slutty" or "loose" or any such thing. Slut is a word that exists to control a woman and her sexuality. And LOL, do you realize how many times I've seen these episodes? Gwaine hits on Gwen, and she turns him down. She's friendly to him later on, but since when does being friendly equate to having feelings for someone? He himself notes that she wasn't receptive to him.

@Hiomie I never said she had a crush on Lancelot; rather that the circumstances made her feelings very understandable. No matter what her feelings were, I find it very disconcerting that you seem to look down on a character for this reason. Gwen is the sort of person who loves very easily in different ways.

I don't know why you think it's at all appropriate to comment on my video with nothing more than whines and complaints. Last I checked, this wasn't a forum.

And God, those characters who love easily are just AWFUL, aren't they? No shame. It's not as if she has a huge heart or anything. Not at ALL possible that she loves each person in a different way. No, instead she's just acting in a "sluttish" manner.

For future reference, it's in incredibly ill taste to make these sort of comments on fanvids. Goodbye.

Pure Perfection! The song title and the song explain the whole thing! The scenes the emotions and what hit home run for me was the voice overs! The speech that Arthur gives to Merlin when he admits his feelings for Gwen is sooo tragic (I just want to give Arthur a big flipping hug) but then Merlin gives us that Hope at the very end! Don't give up hope! This show has proven over and over that it's only loosely based on the legends. Anyway, the Lancelot/Guinevere affair actually never happened in the earliest versions. Plus, in this version Gwen falls in love with Arthur - she won't be marrying him for political reasons as she does in the legends. And the way the creators talk about making this epic love story between A/G gives me hope that it'll work out. Anyway, thanks so much for commenting! I'm glad you liked it. :-)

I love this! All of my subs have been making Arthur/Gwen vids for the past few months and I've been saving them all. I finally watched the series and they are every bit as amazing as I had hoped!

I love that Gwen isn't afraid to stand up to him and that he has allowed himself to love her even though he knows "nothing can ever come of it." (And I put that in quotes because it CAN!)

Anyway, awesome vid. You got some of the smaller moments in there that I love so much :)

They've changed alot of things in the show already and there are quite a few things that arent how they were in legends. You never know, the writers may make it so that she doesnt have the affair and they do live happily ever after. If it doesnt happen like this then you can always imagine it did.

I think, based on the premise of the show (pre-Arthurian Camelot), we'll actually never KNOW what the writers intend (unless they do some foreboding thing at the end, which wouldn't be a pleasant way to end the series). It is very unlikely that we will see what happens to this version of the legend past Arthur being named king.

Oh, yay, another legend A/G fan!! I always loved them too. Most people were all gung ho for Lancelot/Guinevere when it came to the legends, but for some reason it just didn't sit well with me...lol.

The last few episodes of first season have some lovely A/G moments, but yes, season two is where it's at. :-)

Oh, wow, WOW! This gave us chills! It's sooo beautiful! The scenes you picked, the voice-overs, the slow motion on just the right expressions on the characters. We epsecially love how you slowed in on Arthur's expression at 2:13-2:17 min! You just brought out all the angst so brilliantly! Love the B&W coloring on some of the scenes. Have these scenes always been this heartachingly beautiful? *sigh* This video is THE perfect Arwen video, as it shows just why they are so wonderful!

I know they're going to end up together (and hopefully it doesn't go so far into Arthurian Camelot that it includes the affair *eek*), it's just a matter of how it happens and when...like are they going to drag it out for years on end (probably...lol). And right now I'm too obsessed with A/G to really care about any other ships, but I definitely see the appeal of Merlin/Morgana (he was so cute bringing her those flowers!).

Seeing as the affair doesn't happen until the legend I don't see it happening. The whole point of the show is that it leads up to the beginnings of Arthur's Camelot (technically there was no Camelot until Arthur, but whatever lol). And then there's the fact that in the legend the Arthur/Guinevere marriage was political (although Arthur did love her), while in this version...well, clearly marrying a handmaiden wouldn't be a smart move politically. LOL. So yeah, hopefully no affair for us. :-)

No, seeing as the affair came DURING the Arthur's rule and this show is about the events that led up to Camelot, I agree. While I think she'll choose Arthur (she WILL choose Arthur) and they'll be happy in the end, we still know that, years later, she'll have the affair...which is very disheartening, but at least we don't have to see it. :-\

It's WONDERFUL. I especially love the slow-down after "Something about the man I am inside" because I think that was one of the big eye-openers for Arthur (about Gwen). And I love this in general. It has great editing, and it magnified the angst by about tenfold. (lol And yes, guy-angst is the best.) <3
