@dtsjlm stock 79 4 bolt block with 350/400 cast heads roller rockers $55 summit cam Duration 292/302, Lift .488/.510 mix and match lifters and push rods being fed with Edelbrock tpi lower and 28lb injectors most all my parts are junkyard pulled gave $350 for the motor came with the heads $400 for the truck think $75 for the lower tpi and the rest was all got for around $150 throw in a little for little parts here and there I dont have $1500 in the truck beat the 500hp door down with a 75 shot

800 for a sbc 355 all fresh not even ran yet about 350hp

600 for parts for the tranny all performance 700r4

250 for mounts and headers

after that its little nit picking crap

so im at 2,200 so far dont think im going to spend 2 grand on little things

nice s10!!!!!!!! i would appreciate some advice if you can? i have a 95 that i am putting 350 about 400horse and turbo 350 trans,it had a 4.3. 1. what set of springs do i use for v8? 2.floor shifter,what kind is is? 3.can you use the hardware off the 4.3 and put on the v8(braketing for altenator and ac,power steering)? 4.i live in florida so ac is a definate or else i would yank it. 5. did you encounter any problems with fits at firewall or elsewhere? 6 did you have to manuf a crossmember?

@vanseventy i had a 95 with a v8... they are fun, but such a headache to get everything right... and replacing a starter is a nightmare, bellhousing bolts are near impossible to reach... my firewall had to be beat back a little, and the radiator support was cut to allow the radiator to clear the flexfan... mine was pushing around 425hp with a 4.10 mini spool... ran damn good, but was a head ache to keep running lol

the v6 springs is what you want...if its a 4.3 truck the tranny will bolt right to a small block or big block....but id go with a different alternator and get rid of the ac....its hot as hell here so i roll my windows down...haha and you dont have to change the frame mounts. if you have the s10 motor mounts they will bolt right to the frame mounts
