ArmA 2: How To Install ACE mod

this does not work with arma2 and operation arrowhead combined. ive had so many problems. i always get the "userconfig not found" message i need a tutorial video for combined operations not just arma 2.

None of the download links are there anymore (the closest I got was a megaupload link, and we all know what happened to megaupload). I'll just wait for ACE for ARMA 3, which they say is in the works.

@GallowsComedian use SixUpdater to download the latest release. or go in to armaholic and get the "stable" version.

Just a suggestion: sometime edit this so it's only about installation, and not a tutorial on 7Z or game launcher or downloading. Lotsa folk know how to download. That's not the hard part. It's ACE installation that trips people up.

If you install ACE, can u still play regular ArmA II? And I bought ArmA II via Steam, is that a problem for installing ACE?

@FSXflyer12 Because in the @ACE folder, then should be a folder that says store, then go into that, then just drag the userconfig folder into your ARMAII Folder. Then it shouldn't have that error message. Hoped I helped.

@IwAtChViDeOz44 Well it shouldn't, you get it from the @ACE folder, you go into the @ACE/store/double click on userconfig, let it load, then extract the folder in the ARMAII folder, creating a userconfig folder.

i installed everything like you said, but when i play the game but i can't see any difference between the normal arma 2 and the modded version. When i go to the addons folder like you said at 8:07 it only shows addons/mods and then Group 1. can you please tell me what i did wrong?

goodguide all the others were unclear or used some like six updater and beta crap....this is the only guide that more clearly explains the instructions that the ACE website gives....

@DeadlyInertia Figured it out. Google 'Six Updater'. Download it from Armaholic, you'll be able to find ace, acre and CBA mods on their server browser and it all updates very smoothly.

@M1NIONM4N Also, if you are using a linux server, there appears to be a few problems with file size limit. ACE takes a lot of space and you can easily exceed the size limit very quickly. You will also want to check you have all the .bikey files.

However, a problem that many people have when playing any multiplayer is that their anti virus blocks your computer from accessing their server, or vice versa. Have you had any pop ups on your desktops about allowing ArmA 2 access?

Hey RFosta me and my two people i know have been having problems with ACE 2 mainly for the fact that whenever we get a multiplayer session going our games crash we have looked in so many places and cannot figure out why it doesn't work, i can see this video is about installing but we just cant play multiplayer with all ACES with a crash, we have the most latest versions of CBA and ACE2 but out server just crashes any idea's on how to fix this?

Key bindings don't seem to be working for me, when I do shift+F for cqb sights it just changes fire mode/weapon, it doesn't register any of the hotkey set ups at all even though it should be. I did what you did here to the letter. Any advice?

@bleaksolaris That part is quite tricky but basically what you have to do is go in to the @ACE folder (that is the ace core) and then go to store and then find a file called userconfig.tar. Using 7zip you can use the extract to... function and then choose someother folder to extract it into (I just used the downloads folder shown in the video.) Go to the folder that you extracted it into in 7zip and drag and drop it into the main arma folder then follow the rest of the video. Hope it helps.
