you forgot the first part to remove the plastic handle trim,o and un screw the two screws underneath you cant just go at it like that it be a mess

yo i got a question i like to blast my music all the time, but after about a year i noticed that my passanger door is ratteling alot. im pretty sure its some loose screws or something in the panel but im not sure. i know its not a blown speaker.

Anybody have an idea wut it could be?

Man I really appreciate you posting this. My info system is down and I have to use online alldata, man it fucking sucks so bad I can't stand it. Anyway I'm sittin in my shop, and I never work on Euros, but for some reason let this passat in, been slow lately. I friggen hate experimenting my way through a door panel removal, I thought the switched pried up but I wasn't sure, that alone was worth the price of admission. I have fucked up wires between door and body inside the boot.

you know i used this video as a guide to remove my MK4 door panel. it is 95% similar with the exception of the power lock button and rear view mirror controls are swaped on a MK4.

Do you have any info on removing the passenger side panel ? I have a 2005.5 MkV and suspect there are more than just the 4 torx head screws holding the panel on.

My only problem is my o/s rear door won't open, due to the child lock being on.. and a possible spring broken from the outside door handle..

i have a vw golf but the driver side door also has a small unit to release the petrol cap, does that need to come out or not, have lifted it partly out but seems stuck and did not want to risk breaking any connections, your vid is good

Thanks very much after 6 months of the rattle from the front passenger door in my R32 driving me mad your vid finally gave me the confidence to open it up and I found the cause was the plastic ring surrounding the rear speaker which had come away and was vibrating with music and movement of the car. One question : I own a 4th gen Golf and i have a problem with the window of the front passanger's door. An hour ago i tried to lower the window but it made some weird noises and the window got all the way in. I knew by then that i'm forced to remove the door panel and i did that. The problem now though is that there's still a metal panel that's covering the door and i don't have any lock removing it.

It seems to be tightened up with some bolts so you can't remove it using screwdrivers.

You're missing the very first part, when you need to remove that little piece from the handle by pulling it towards the door.

im having trouble with the power lock. everytime i press the lock or unlock button the front two doors lock or unlock when they want to. sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt.. any help? i would apreciate

Just pry gently underneath as shown in the video, be gentle and it will come right out.

Nope.

Oh, that is a connector that holds the door on. Sometimes they stick in the hold instead of staying on the door.
