Nice perch terry, I' haven't fished gull lake yet, but I've heard great thing's. It'd be awesome to run into you on the lake, take care and good luck on the water
sweet i go there for whitess but normaly we go to berch bay, sunny side or stony bay.
when you get right on the lake left hand side aways out there theres a big point and right on that point is awsome for jacks and be hind that point theres a bay and i have never been there but i gess there is saposto be great fishing in there too.
Tried that first point and one further to the North of Brownlows.. First point, just got small Gtaors and some Whites. Second point much better action with Burbs, Pike and Ling. Mostly Sandy flat out there.
Gonna have to do a couple trips out to Wilson's Beach. Better for bigger Gators, Burbs and Whites..
Should be good by then.Got recent reports on 09/12/11 that there was good 9" out at Brownlows. Couple of people with smaller vehicles driving on and taking a big risk. Better to walk on and drill test holes to find out how thick it is.
When they are aggressive, use Jig and Minnow or Spoons. Jig it off bottom to cause a Mud Cloud. When they are not, use a deadstick with Jig/Minnow or Smelts, just off bottom to 12" off. Might have to move around to find any areas that they frequent more.
We'll have to hook up for a trip there.Quad went in for Tune-up,back in a couple of weeks. Perch not in schools, 1-2 at a time. Was going to try to get footage of the fish but did not have enough hands. Got that figured out now. Had a big Ling come up to Cam and give it a nudge before swimming off. That was too cool and again, didn't get the footage but I'll be ready next time. Picked up a Gorilla Pod and with the remote for Cam, it's gonna be hands free !!
As they say No Ice is ever safe Ice.....Towards the end of March, the Ice will be close to 3 ft or over. I've already got a 6" Extension on the Auger. Friends without, are getting close to bottom on theirs.
Keep looking for the Perch as they are there............

i live near gull lake ab...what part of the lake is that? brownlows?
fonto12 3 years ago
Brownlows it was that day. We were just out there on Feb 01 targeting Ling. We got into a bunch from 3-8 lbs and a buddy got into a 12" Fatty.
If I'm just targeting Perch, I head over to Sunnyside. Got a couple spots where we get mostly Perch and not too many Ling and Pike.

Burbs were 3-8 lbs and 12"Fatty was a Perch. Had few Perch come by but then a
couple of Pike chased them off, only to be caught on our tip-ups... Pics were posted on a couple Forums of the trip.
