  • I was really surprised when I read about this. He's only ever been on like 3 TV commercials and he chose Australia for his forth. Odd, but people who complain should shut the fuck up and not care about ads.

  • LOL.. GOLD!!!!

  • Who the fuck cares where this was filmed. It made The Greater more popular that's all that fucking matters and that's all it was fucking intended to fucking do. It only gets shown in the Central and North Coast's of NSW and South east Queensland. Fuck Australians can be whining cunts.

  • My Dad was born in Wagga Wagga.

  • love it

  • As A greater customer, I'm embaresed by these crap ads.

Perhaps I should leaver the greater and go to teh Newcastle Permanent. At least they have ads filmed in my hometown where they are based, and are not in some random american street with random lampposts and parking meters that look like they from 1980's

  • I hate the greater, now they made these crappy ads with some American, In america, I hate them more.

I would of much rather seen new greater ads in my home town, which is where the greater is based, in NSW But no they had to go to some crap place in America where most people probably haven't heard of Australia.

I hate the greater even more now.

  • hey stop I live there cedarhurst's a nice place

  • Not saying it's a bad place. But this bank is based in my home town and I think it's stupid they go to random American cities for their ad's.

  • nah jk it's fine i fucking hate my town criticize all you want

  • ahahah i was there when they filmed this

  • haha try again lol

  • lol i love you jerry

  • Filmed in Long Island, NY. The corner of Cedarhurst Ave. and Central Ave. in Cedarhurst to be exact, lol. Was cool to see him around that day!

  • This ad was filmed in the US that is why there is Kookabarra at the start. You don't get that much noise in Newcastle!

  • Why the fuck have we got some YANKEE COCKSUCKER doin` ads for us anyway? Surely we have an AUSSIE somewhere who could have done with the cash....

  • That doesnt make sense? Kookabarras are an Australian animal. Not American???

  • haha, i think its great..er.. I'm from newcastle to and yeah its not hunter street, but hunter street is a dump anyway. It sure got alot of people talking i mean the ad has had more than 6,500 views in 5 days, John Church or Paul Harrigan arent going to get that kind of hype. A buddy of mine works at the newcastle permanent and they're trying to top it with Chuck Norris

  • Jerry Seinfeld doing a country ad, what next? Him doing ads for businesses in Bendigo such as BTB or Sandhurst Machinery?

  • Lol, anyone here from Wagga Wagga?

  • You guys all know that it wasn't filmed in Australia yeah? Hamish and Andy had a discussion on it, just heard it on the podcast.

When was the last time you heard a kookaburra? Jeez, not for 10 years since I was out on my grandparents farm.

The only thing I can say is, they could have gotten it "more" wrong. And besides, I like Jerry. Glad he didn't do it for the money. :P

  • what a crock of crap. WTF does Jerry Seinfeld have to do with a Newcastle based building society? When was the last time u saw a "drug store" in Newcastle? Waste of money - I am a member of the Greater & I am pissed that they wasted our money on this

  • lol i live in the city that the greater is actually in and i'm telling you that looks nothing like Newcastle! i can't believe he agreed to do the ad; the good thing is he didn't do it for money because my mum works at the Newcastle Herald (obviously the local paper) and they go to interview him (i can't believe that either) and he said he did the ad because, well he just felt like doing it! they didn't even pay him that much!

  • that person that said "here" sounded so fake lol.. as if they had got an american so say "here" with an aussie accent lol

  • yeh its definately wasnt filmed in australia. i remember reading in a news article that they decked out a US town wit australian road signs for filming

  • 2trunks ur a moron. shluffy is right cuz i was at the shooting several times. in cedahurst ny.

  • RANDOM place?

He filmed this in my town of Cedarhurst, New York. It's on Long Island. =)

  • thats bullshit its in my home town of coonawagida in eastern NSW Australia i don't understand why loosers like yourself get on you tube and make stuff up? get a life and don't waste your time making up crap

  • Do your homework, idiot - it was filmed in NY made to look like a typical Australian suburb.

  • sorry, just taking the piss mate no such town :-)

  • Ahh Hello I live in Wagga Wagga! Thanks you're so kind.

  • hey I'm from wagga,which laundry-mat ,& I'm still waiting!!!!!

  • You're gonna be waiting for a while! ha!

  • the only thing i find funny about this campaign is that, for some reason, Jerry Seinfeld agreed to do an ad for a company with a track record of horrible tv commercials. Good to see the building society members' money going to good use...

Oh well, back to the Seinfeld re-runs I go...

  • Nice work. Next time get them to fly you to Newcastle. It's a nice enough place, great beaches, good seafood & great wineries just up the road. Shoot, the Greater will probably even throw in a free holiday. Plus the finished product will look more Australian.

  • lol yeah! it still looked really new york.

  • where are you from? "here" hahahaha

  • lol what was with all the kookaburra noises..

  • What a great story, the irony of this is that The Greater is NOT a bank. It's a small cooperative building society owned by the members, no executive pay scales there...Go Jerry

  • Haha! Hey, how come Microsoft couldn't have had him do something funny like this?

  • LOL! points to jerry for taking the punt on an aussie minnow. His stocks went up with me.

  • hahaha,, love it... but it was filmed in some random place in america,, hahaha.. =]

  • aw yeh wagga!

  • A real coup that they got Seinfeld, but is that the best use of him? Drinking water out of a large water cooler bottle?! They took a minute to tell me exactly what every bank tells me - they're all about service. At least, that's what the voiceover said. Is Jerry Seinfeld out the front of the credit union evidence that they'll go the 'extra mile'? Because according to Jerry, he'll be outside the laundromat next week... Hmm... Still, here I am - they got my attention, I guess...

  • that's gold jerry, GOLD!

  • nice "australian" set guys
