  • lovely aria, I would like to hear it performed by Angela Gheorghiu

  • Um, don't like it. Her top gets strained, a tad heavy for her....

  • Splendida tecnica. Voce passabile. Il punto e' che sono cresciuto col Trovatore di Maria Callas. Ammazza qualsiasi cosa.

  • perchè tutti questi legati?

  • Que voz linda é a dela,parabéns e sucesso.Brava!!!

  • I like my taccea la notte placida to have a narative feel to it,.. Much like regnava nel silenzio.... This is a medium tempo aria and if taken too slow it drowns the tension in the lower parts and it sounds like freni singing the ''la pace del'aVel'' in tu che le vanita..... renee should try d'amour sull'alli rosee...

  • Why must she sing like everything is Puccini ? whats going on from 4.18 ???

  • There is no connection between natural voice, vocal training, musicality and poetic quality. Fleming has a great voice which is produced beautifully and has a lovely presentation, all of which have contributed to her operatic superduperstardom.Like many top stars before her, there is virtually no attempt at creating the poetry of the libretto, nor is there a lot of "true musicality" in her performances. I guess individual fans react to this individually,

  • A truly stunning voice, but the mannerisms get extremely distracting after a while.

  • This tempo skewers the aria... but this is typical Fleming.. tempos not written by the composer. its all about her... we need to notice her voice.. the hell with the rest of the music. I have grown to dislike her, for her lack of musical taste. Immensely talented, but flawed as an artist. her interpretations of these various roles , will be forgotten in the annals of operatic history.. They are not inciteful. And you do not alter VERDI( the B flat at the end).

  • This is not Verdi's spartito!!!!

  • è bella tutta lineata musicale...ma si vede che non gli fregava per NIENTE il Testo al Metropolitan....ne cantante ne pubblico....Superficiale....Ahime!!!

  • Do you have the slightest idea of what you are talking about? I dont think so.

  • does she have the slightest idea of what she is singing about?

  • She spoils the whole good job with that horrendous end!!! Only for that it's not in my favs.

  • I love her and i find it gorgeous, but i have to say i don't get why does she sing this Bb at the end. I think it is the first time i hear it, and i admit i don't like it. There is not a Bb in the score and from my point of view it doesn't suit it at all.

  • Beautiful performance, beautiful woman! Renee, we love you!

  • Deve imparare le parole, e rimanere nello style Verdiano e non Flemingiano !!!!

  • Ma mi piace tanto quando canta "per esso non morrò" 6:05...

    Basta con gli eccessivi sacrifici!

  • @MariaCaIIas

Una Leonora moderna e pragmatica :-)

  • She's really quite fabulous in the way she adjusts to the different styles mentally. However I always find something missing from her singing - even the most tender of emotion still seems mannered, like she doesn't want to really bare her heart...

  • beautiful and no more words :P

  • I'm probably not a good person to comment on this video: I listen to the song, not the singer.

That is, unless the singer is really quite miserable. Or it's a queen song. Because then it better be freddy mercury.

  • Leonora is truly more like a spinto coloratura than a dramatic coloratura.

  • Truly amazing - one of the greatest singers of our time.
