  • @SpacelordGrakthnor I think she means a bean flour when she says gram flour. She later calls it besan which is a chickpea flour. I am gluten-free too and these were a great way to get a bread-like texture back into my diet.

Can cabbage be substituted with lauki (doodhi)? If so, does the water need to be taken out before mixing the flour? How do I measure the amount of lauki as it is very watery when you process it. Thanks for your help!

  • can we use any other veggie other than cabbage, can v use carrot or sumthing?

  • yes you can use any squash, spinach, carrots

  • very nice way to add cabbage to the diet..I somehow dont know any way I would like to incorporate cabbage and other greens to the diet (except spinach - which makes wondeful palak paneer). Could you also create/show a recipe to include beetroot in a recipe ..I buy it but never make anything coz i hate how it tastes. But it has a lot of iron so would like to eat it more often. Thanks again for a awesome recipe!

  • There is a simple way to make a curry. Heat about a tsp of oil and add a tsp of mustard seeds to it. If available, add chick peas and split black gram and fry till golden brown.Add some freshly grated coconut, chillies to taste & turmeric and saute for 30s. Add boiled cabbage/carrot/beetroot along with salt & saute for another min. Its easy and turns out extremely tasty.

  • Can we use Idli stand inside a cooker ? Will the time to steam stay the same ?

  • Yes you can that will work great.

  • Awesome.

  • YUM!

  • i'm gonna try a rawfoodist version of this...Thank you

  • Yuuummmm .... will definately try it ..

    Thanks !!
