Personally, I think Guitar Hero Smash Hits is an awesome game. I really like playing old songs again. I just think they could have kept the same game engine but made the backgrounds and highways look like the games the songs were from. That would have made it killer.

But overall, I give GHSH an 8/10 because some songs are incredibly over-charted.

GH smash hits was a good concept, but they really should have put in more songs. They should have put in the best songs from all the bonus songs and from GH3 DLC as well. Mostly from GH3 DLC, because, as a Wii player, I'm still butthurt that we haven't gotten TDWDTG yet.

Guitar Hero came out, and it was good. Two came out and was even better. Three was a peeking point, it is by far the best and the most fun to play. Then they messed everything up when World Tour came out, And it just got slowly worse. Guitar hero Metallica was cool, but i want a mix, not just play one band all day.

I've never liked the take GH took on the vocals. They made it weird with the extra stuff. Not only that, but it seems like GH is going down the gutter. RB owns with the DLC and pulls off full band 100x better than GH.

I have always thought that Smash Hits was a terrible idea. Simpy a way of milking an already over-saturated franchise. So, wanting to play drums on Beast and the Harlot I just rented it rather than buying it. Beat it on expert drums and guitar in two nights, respectively. I thought the game was utter crap. They messed up a lot of songs that used to be a blast to play due to charting issues. The mix isn't that good either, as evidenced by No One Knows. Lacked the appeal that made GH & GH2 so good

Yes, it was a bad idea...but the charts were improved, but apparently making it more accurate, makes the songs less enjoyable...and btw, the fun parts in the songs on GH and GH2 were gone in Smash Hits because the original chart was made for the cover versions, which had extra guitar parts added.

i think what they did with GHSH is badass but they bullshit a lot, like i was playing Career with Guitar and i had a Bass partner, and when we got The Artifact full 100% and completed tha game on Xpert, they only gave us the Rock Legends Achievement and none of the Career completion achievements.They should have done there Career Like GHM; Short, Simple,and Fcking Amazing. Smash Hits shouldn't have been DLC, it would cost more than $60 if it did.

A lot of things about SH rubbed me the wrong way: no real callbacks to old GH games (like old venues or costumes), lots of bad song choices, questionable charts (should have left it to NS, they've been improving massively lately), and the still-asinine decision to make an expansion pack $60. Full price for less songs than WT/RB2 is absurd and they should cut it out
