  • I don't imagine you can wear a belt in competition

  • @EndlessaurusRex Im sorry that 93.09 Parviainen is probably true. But I know another Finnish thrower had thrown 96,...something with a modified javelin.

  • @EndlersaurusRex You are wrong, many of the throwers who threw over 93m had modified javelins which discualifies their results. I am not 100 percent sure, but I know that with the current javelin configuration no one has thrown over 93 meters

  • i want those pants!

  • He threw 98,48 m the second best by someone else is 92m something

  • @TheMehakarp 93.09 by Aki Parviainen, but yeah, pretty much right.

  • At least 70m, i have seen him do standing throws in and around 70m+

  • @frankmccrystal746 don't have to be that far. Zelezny really throws relax in this whole video, there is no point is trying to be fast when you're training technique. So maybe they are just 60m or so, but who cares, love for Zelezny anyways!! =D

  • he's a legend

  • @9848Joshman indeed, but i guess it fits his era.

  • Last few throws are definitely 75 m +

  • ye he throws about 60 m here, hes playing to improve tehnique :) u gotta love him 4 times olympic champ...

  • @loveinaturesomuch actually he only won the Olympics 3xs and a silver. still the most impressive javelin thrower on the planet.

  • These tags are in italian language :D

i can translate it if u want , btw,i watched this video many times it made me dream

  • Thanks!!

  • He has * i meant to say

  • is he still throwing than?

  • @Ooji6345 No he's retired and coaching, he as a 21 kid that has thrown over 85m before

  • how old is he here?

  • @Ooji6345 well he was born in 1966 so he'd be about 39

  • @Mrich619 your math is alittle off, he was 29 at the time.

  • @fahringer no it's not, he was born in 1966 and this is in 2005 2005

    -1966 = 39

  • Thank you very much for the upload. Its very inspiring to watch. btw do u know how old he is here?

  • Jan is amazing, his throws are really smooth yet powerful :) I want to be able to throw it like him ;D

  • 60-70m is pretty good for a guy thats has like 10 back surgeries. He really throw's the jav through the grip, i gotta work on that.

  • Anybody who know how far these throws are going ?

  • @Fushraxen just a guess, but i would say the later throws where he is putting in more effort maybe are 60-70m

  • @Fushraxen

with just a 5-6 step probably late 50s and early 60s and the later ones 70s :S

    Just a guess ! :P

  • Excelent video!!! Thanks from Chile!

  • What great video! Amazingly efficient: essentially non-reverse throws from a full run. Not many throwers ever got so much of their runup into the spear without the need to step over. thanks for this.... it will help many athletes improve!
