I think America just lacks a specific "culture" just because they are so mixed and new. It'll be a while before Americans get their own bona fide culture (at least across entire america). There are some neat american cultures if you go to certain places in America.

frat and fraternity are two different things. People have the wrong image of what a fraternity is, unfortunately. We do a lot of positive things; it's nothing like the animal house image at all. :)

weelllll 'frat' is generally just an abreviation for 'fraternity' but I assume you're not really associated with Greek life, more like a service fraternity than a social fraternity?

it is an abreviation, but the term 'frat' is generally associated with the animal house mentality. My fraternity definitely is greek life, and is social, but it also has many philanthropic / scholarship features as well :) We are also a dry house, too, which defies the "frat" association
